I'm hoping to have these ASAP, but getting them by christmas may be cutting it a little short. This stupid bezel fitmant issue is what's holding everything up. If i thought everyone was going to paint their main lens with an eyebrow, it would solve the problem.
No eyebrow for me. I really like the look the bezels have given the whole package. Take your time and get it RIGHT. I have no problem waiting a few more days (or a couple of weeks if that is what it takes). I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to ensure we get a quality product that will work in all conditions and is something you can be proud of!

I too like the Al. It looks good like that. Only thing I might do is wire wheel them to get a brushed look.

Nope, no eyebrow. I will probably anodize the bezzle since I believe that will hold up to the magnified light.

Will the tops of the lights still be exposed with the alum. bezels? I guess I was confused by the earlier descriptions, but thought you were creating more bezel on the top side (e.g. to "finish" the circle that begins under the light itself). An eyebrow would still cover the part I don't like visible, I understand -- just checking what the plan is.

What is the process of anoedizing and how does it differ from powdercoating?

Unfortionatly no. The diamater of the projector steadily increases the further you go back on the high beam and is significantly wider on the low beam (the wider reflector bowl gives a wider output pattern) The mounting location of the bezels is where they will go on the final version.

anodize is done like plating, limited colors, acid baths, using electrical current. powdercoat many, many more colors to chose from, baked on finish. both very durable, but powdercoat is almost bullet proof. anodize is used mostly on porus metals, powder can go on all metals. anodize is more ornamental.powder more industrial

Gentleman, a quick test fit shows that the CCFL halo ring is not an option with the Alumnum bezel. I can only install the halo rings if an eyebrow is painted on the main lens.

Those in the Spot saver GP who Selected the halo option: I offer these options:

a) delete the Halo option (i will refund the difference)
b) install the Halos without the aluminum shroud: The user will either paint the main lens or i can cut off the part of the shroud that's in the danger zone (there wil be a gap) or install a foil-backed tape that will reflect the focused light without melting.

Well crap. I didn't want to paint the lights but now it seems like that may be my only good option if I want to keep the halos. Can you maybe do a mockup of the eyebrows using painters tape? Coloring the tape close to body color would be even better.

I could do that. I'll probably use electrial tape to simulate black.

At one time you were considering sanding the upper portion of the projector lenses. Is this possibly still an option?? (I assume it would not effect the output of the projector, just keep the incoming sunlight from focusing and melting the shroud.)

this is still an option. the low beams would not be affected, but the high beams would show a little blurry towards the top. I i were to do this, you could have the halos without the aluminum shroud or painted lens.

If you are certain the low beam output would not be effected in any way, I personally would prefer this option. Dont care too much if the high beams are ever so slightly effected.

Bummer, I thought the bezels looked killer. Oh well, you cant ALWAYS have your cake and eat it too (though we try like hell most of the time dont we? LOL!!). Even with out the bezels, it is a damn nice design that functions as well as it looks.

Excellent. In that case i can get your kit ready much faster. As soon as I get over this annoying head cold, I'll have your kit trimmed up and ready to go.

Would you prefer the halos get power from the headlights, parking lights or DRLs?

Cool beans. No absolute rush. I too have been suffering from a head cold for over two weeks now, so I know what you are going through. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

For the Halos, I would like them powered along with the DRL's, as I will be using them as DRL's (ON when the key is ON and headlights OFF, and Halos OFF when the key is ON and headlights ON).

Thanks a ton!!

10-4. If it is easy, just give me a + and - lead (pigtail) for the Halo's, and I can take it from there. THANKS!!

Will they flash with the turn signals even when the headlights are on? Or only when they are in DRL mode?
