Thanks for the order and I'm glad your enjoying your seats!

People have no idea how much better a car drives with very good seats.

Many people don't "understand" until they actually "drive" a car with good seats that really hold you in place. I tend to hit the turns very hard when opportunity arises.

I realized one day that I was hitting the turns "harder" in my GTI than I was in my Z06. My GTI has Recaro type seats that hold me in place like glue. European car makers seem to better understand good seat design. I just feel so confidant hitting a turn very quickly in the GTI that I got used to a certain turn close to my house. One day driving my Z06 (not thinking I was going as fast as I do in my GTI) I hit that same turn and half way thru the turn my body was sliding across the seat, and I was SERIOUSLY fighting to stay upright. It scared the crap out of me. It was at that moment I knew my stock piece of crap Z06 seats were either being sold, or thrown in the trash. I'm serious.

My stock Z06 seats just plain sucked. So disappointing of GM in there premier sports car ! ! ! Now my Corbeau's hold me in like glue. I can concentrate on driving hard into the turn and not worry about staying upright or sliding in my seat. I hit that turn now quicker in my Z06 than I can in my GTI now... (The way it SHOULD be !)

If people say that seats don't make a difference then I would compare them to the same people that say "Coil overs are no good for the street"... I laugh so hard hearing those comments...

PS... Some may think that a GTI is a little piece of crap German car. Before you judge it ... you need to drive one hard into a turn to understand why I love it as a daily driver. 32.5mpg all day long in the city too.

Has anyone got rid of there stock seatbelts for anything else? What did you go with?

I got a brey krause harness bar, and 5 point harness. But hven't decided where or how to mount the lap belts and the crotch belt.

Any suggestions?

Are you trying to put them in a C5? If so they will NOT fit easily.

No unless you remove interior parts such as the stock seat belts

The stock seat belt are out, I just got the car and it has Simpson harness installed both dr and pass sides. I think the seat upgrade would be a logical next step for this car.

Its going to be one of the seats in your site, that's why I was curious if the "wides" A4 or LG1 would fit a C5. I have a 39-40 waist and want to make sure I'm able to fit the seat properly. This is a weekend car, some track-2-3x per season, primarily for cruising and shows.

Please PM me with quote on both and shipping to 18052

Thank you

I know I am reviving an old thread, but that may be helpful here. I am between the black cloth and micro suede, and was curious for those of you who have had either for a while - how have they worn? Any projected differences between the two in terms of longevity?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I would take the Microsuede over the cloth for longevity and comfort

So maybe I missed it, apologize in advance if so, how easily does the A4 Wides fit inside the C5? I am rather large and want to get the best available!
Thoughts?

It looks to me like the seat best receiver bracket needs to be shortened. I plan on doing this over the winter on mine.

I feel the same way whenever I drive my Mazda MX-5 PRHT. The seats in that car are cloth but keep me held in place, very securely around corners. And at 2500 lbs vehicle weight, those corners are tamed very easily. Just after buying that car, I realized how smooshy the C5 seats were (Sport seats).

HOLY crap ! GM should be ashamed of them selves for putting such CRAPPY seats in the Corvette.

Tonight was the first time in the 6 years that I have owned my Z06, that I truly felt this car's capabilities. I'm dead serious ! I never realized how much fighting to stay composed in my seat took away from being able to REALLY drive this car hard. I hit turns tonight that I have never hit that hard before, and I felt VERY confidant in doing so. My confidence level in driving my car hard is increased 100 fold ! I was pulling some serious "G's" tonight and I was absolutely glued in my seat the whole time ! What an absolute thrill ! I should have done this mod a LONG time ago !

I was going under a bridge doing a U turn. I was going way faster than I ever have before, and I felt very confidant doing it. When I came to the 90 degree turn to turn onto the service road I could feel that the car was going to slide. I could just feel it. I felt "one" or "connected" with the car. If that makes sense. I anticipated the slide, and let it happen, and accelerated thru it. I drifted the rear end as I entered onto the service road, as the tail swung out on me. I accelerated and it came back straight, and I just punched it. I wish I had a video of that . I NEVER felt so comfortable driving like that before in this car EVER ! It just felt effortless.

Corbeau says that only up to a 36" waist will fit in the standard seat. Don't worry if your a little bigger. I fit like a glove !

I am:
1.) 6ft
2.) 210lbs
3.) Waist 38" around
4.) Chest 41" around
5.) Shoulders 48" around

- I would say that I could be a little bigger in the shoulders and still be ok.
- I think a tiny bit bigger in the chest would be ok also.
- I think being much bigger around in the waist would be an issue.

I fit in the lower seat back quite snug. I gotta lay off the soda...

I am also very impressed with the looks of the seats. I really think they compliment the interior of my Z06. They look like race seats like the Z06 should have. I hit them with Zaino leather in a bottle, and they are looking and smelling great !

If your looking for a performance mod..... I highly recommend this as a performance mod. You will never drive your car the same. I can promise you that !!!

Corvette Forum Vendor "TPSMak" (Mike) can hook you up like he did with me !
