Default Hankook update...

I now have a little over 500 miles on my new Hankook Ventus V12 evos and would like to report that it has been a pleasure so far...great handling, etc...don't know why I waited so long to get rid of the Goodyear runcraps
$604 shipped ...minus $60 rebate...plus mounting/Hunter roadforce balancing...

...forgot to mention putting on C6Z51 swaybars...wow what a difference in handling so far...now all I need is C6Z06 shocks...ooooooooooboy

I've got maybe 150-200 miles on my Hankooks and they are very nice so far. Glad yours are working out so well for you.

Thanks for the info. The Big Brown Truck is scheduled to arrive sometime today with my Hankook V12's with installation tomorrow early AM.

Just in time for a trip to the NC beach then a little "meander" on the Tail of the Dragon on the way home.

Next will be the C6 sways and shocks.

Very good tires, I wish they would make them in C6Z sizes

I cannot believe the difference since ditching my oe runflats!
So smooth and quiet.
Went with 265-35-18 and 305-30-19.

I've got a couple thousand miles on mine and have no complaints. I'll be buying another set when I get new wheels.

I LOVE my Hankook V12s on my 02 Z51

275/40 on rear...245/45 on front.

Pulled the Micehllin PS run flats. I culd feel better performance and handling right away.

Have a set of Z06 shocks coming from a seller on the forums. Can't wait for that upgrade!

Get back to us when you have 5000 miles on em. Hopefully, they will feel the same.
By the way, consider Bilstein shocks over the Z06ers. The Bilsteins are rebuildable but even before their first rebuild are likely to outlast any OEM shock.

Thanks for the advice...I have Bilsteins on my '95 and after 70,000 miles they probably need rebuilding which is understandable...my '04 on the other hand just has 27,000 miles on it and doesn't really need new shocks but I think the Z06 shocks will beef up the handling enough for me and will last another 27,000 miles which will probably be another 7 years for me...its not a daily driver...so I think they will be good enough for me...thanks guys for contributing to this thread

I had Bisteins on my 68 for many, many years and they never seemed to wear out/fade. Also Lou G of LG Motorsports designed them into thir excellent coil over package.

Mind if I ask where you bought them from? That's a great price.

Well the Bilsteins I have are part of the Electronic Selective Ride system(FX3)...the shocks have an actuator on top of the shock...$3200 for new Bilstein shocks and new actuators...I may replace them with standard shocks...after 70,000 miles they are weeping a little so that means they may need replacing sometime in the future...biggest problem I have had is the rear leaf spring splintering over a damn railroad track...replaced it and 5 years later went over the same fkn track and broke the spring again...got a new one on order...

I'm getting ready to order a set of Hankook V12's, Tire Rack just dropped the price, plus the $60 rebate. I can get a set for $600, plus mounting. I've already installed the C6Z06 sway bars and I'm going to order the C6Z06 shocks now as well. I have new rotors and pads to install, and I also changed the fuel filter while I had it up. That seems to have gotten rid of the gasoline smell when I fill it up past about 5/8 of a tank. I'm also using non-ethanol fuel , 90.7 octane. Oh, and I have the seat bolster foam kit from Mez that I have to install as well.
I love my Corvette

Good for Tire Rack...but does the $600 include shipping? Discount Tires Direct has that same price which includes shipping

I'm not a Tire Rack guy. DTD just lowered their price today. This morning they were about $150 more than TR. Now, they are about the same after the rebate. I just use them both to compare prices.

I'm getting mine from my local mechanic, he'll match the best price I can find and I don't have to do anything except drive down to see him, give him my hockey pucks, and come back in a couple of hours.

....but now you say "DTD just lowered their prices"...in your previous post(#14) you said "Tire Rack just dropped the price, plus the $60 rebate. "...so which is it? DTD or Tire rack that lowered their prices?...doesn't really matter because you are getting the "good deal"...congrats!

Why are you ragging me ?? I couldn't care less.

Tire Rack DID lower their price from the last time I checked, maybe 3 weeks ago, by about $40 a set of 4. Checking prices today, at 1050am DTD wants $685 "out the door". TR wants $590 shipped. That's a $100 difference (rounded off). Both prices are before the $60 rebate.

I'm sure you could have looked this up as well, but I'm still at a loss as to why you want to challenge me on this ?? Why do you care where I buy my tires ??

Calm down Sherlock..its a discussion and when you say things that can't be understood there are questions thats all ...geeze...
and btw...I started the thread just telling people how I liked the Hankooks and what I paid for them...noone asked you to step in and make mistakes on who was dropping prices then when you are questioned on it give me a bunch of crap...if all you want to do is have the last word then so be it...post again so you can have it...I won't see it because you are now blocked from my viewing...have a nice day angry man

Straight from Discount Tires Direct website:

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110
Tire Size
Front: 245/45R-17XL 99Y VSB
Rear: 275/40R18XL 103Y VSB
Front Tire
$111.00
Rear Tire
$188.00

Thats a total of $598 out the door then you get a $60 rebate...

Tire Rack wants $558 + shipping which is anywhere from $54 to $113+ depending where they are shipped from and to...
