Mine is from Apsis. It’s real carbon fiber, but it’s a laminate that goes on your core piece with a mile of clear coat. It’s nice, but very costly.
No idea just someone on ebay. For 195 shipped I'm happy.

I just came across this thread yesterday and just now finished reading it.

Great build of a really nice C5.

Prayers for you, your wife and your girls.

Thanks for taking the time to post your journey down the rabbit hole.

nice car! Very similar to my build. Looks like you got your diffuser to fit better than the bodyshop I paid to install mine and mine was allegedly the fixed one? Good job on the build!

GREAT thread - thank you, and best wishes and prayers for your family. I am a first time Corvette owner (1998 C5) and am putting my project build together. Lots of great info here, I read the entire thing. In your specs, could you list the tire size for newbies like me? Love the setup on yours, and I have some ideas about what size you have.

Exterior:
Anderson Composites vented hood
C7 carbon splitter
C7 carbon side skirts
Carbon creations diffuser
Ebay spoiler
4eyeC5 low rise headlight kit
corner light eliminators
clear corners with switchbacks
tinted tails/backup lights

Suspension/handling/Brakes:
Aldan american coilovers with their "race" rate coils
Hotchkis Sway bars
Wilwood 4 pot brakes front and rear with stainless lines
TSW Nurburgring wheels with Nitto Invos

Performance:
Vararam cold air with power tube
Texas speed long tubes with catted mid pipe - ceramic coated
Ebay corsa knock off axle back
ECS mail tune
Dewitts radiator and fan setup

Interior:
Corbeau LG1 seats
C6 shifter and box
Bluetooth adapter for factory head unit
Twiddlers replaced
mandatory lloyds mats haha
Added a HUD
Trim rings on gauges
leather cover on center console

Things purchased to go on:
BTR Stage 3 cam with supporting mods
Monster Twin disc clutch with all tick hydraulic upgrades needed
'mericaperformanceparts built diff with 4.10's
'mericaperformanceparts built z06 trans
ECS trans brace

still considering heads...

OBX long tubes and axle back i believe. They came on the car. Wheels are Forgestar F14's 18/19. He's lowered on drop bolts

Thanks man. fronts are 265's and rears are 305's. Nitto invo's. I have to look at the profile. i think the fronts are 40's and rear are 35s? i'd have to look again to be sure. it's been a while.

I am pretty sure those JBLs are the same I did in mine. I did the 6.5 component sets up front with tweeters in dash pad corners and 6.5 2 ways in the rear locations running on a 300 watt 4 channel amp.

i really just wanted to keep the factory system. I'm fine with changing stuff out. I dunno... I just didn't want to get crazy with this one. the mustang i sold to buy this had all components and subs and 2 amps etc...

I ended up doing this:

I like mine so far. I already had a DD Kenwood so adding the small amp and those speakers and a small powered 8” didnt take up any room and sounds way better.

no seriously though... I always say i'm going to do that and then end up with a box of bolts that i'm digging through looking for the right one.

That is how I did it hahaha. I did manage to keep things separate and remembered how each thing went. Would I do it that way again? No lol.

I haven't abandoned the vette project. it just took a bit of a back seat for a couple months while i built this car. This one goes in for paint in 2 weeks. And my Vette is in world of wheels next weekend. Once the show is over, and this is out of the garage. The c5 is coming home and getting torn apart...

Well, that car looks like total fun. World Of Wheels, man I haven't heard those words for quite some time. They quit having that show down here a long time ago. I use to love going to that one.

I had no desire to even enter it into the show but my buddy that did the ceramic coating asked me to...
