You can get the dorman from Rock Auto pretty cheap but if it were me Id grab a FAST 92 and throw on there and a silver blade TB and be done.
what cam is in it?
also since you are doing this all again anyways grab a Katech C5R timing chain to put in it and use the timing chain damper that bolts in from Melling that doesnt require drilling and tapping the block (unless the Ls6 block was drilled and tapped already).
Also grab your new front and rear main seals, oil pump to pick up tube o-ring, front and rear cover gaskets and oil pan to block gasket, and water pump gaskets. To cheap to risk using old from the rebuilt engine that died. Almost want to tell ya to at least take the intake, valley cover, and heads off off to check the condition of the cam and valves but I dunno if I would take the heads off and risk another issue.
you scored big time with the engine though with those heads and a cam. Again those themselves would be over 2k new with the required tid bits they needed to install.
Dude, you don't play around.
Sorry to hear about the engine fail but congrats. on the new engine.
Still following along for the soon to come back on the road video.
yeah got me scratching my head here....why take that out and sell so cheap...unless just COMPLETELY ignorant of what it is or what they had.
the story is. Dude bought it from vette villains for 2500 bucks. Never put it in the car. Sold the car.
Then his buddy (who I bought it from and who had 2 c5s) bought it from him. Sold the c5 it was going to go into. Then held on to it for an s2000 swap that never happened.
dude was a super nice guy. His wife is pregnant he's remodeling his house. This is just in the way.

Weelllllll just an update. This weekend i'm tearing things apart again.
But a FUN update is i bought a fast 92. I sold both (well 1 is sold the other the guy said he wanted) ls6 intakes. and I sold the belt drive off the ls1 (and kept the newer ls6 drive since it has the updated alternator bracket). That funded the FAST 92. I'm looking for an LS2 throttle body now, but in the meantime i ordered an adapter to run my ls1 tb on the FAST (in case i can't find one).
I'm helping a buddy who's been quarantined put his blower on his miata tues, and he's coming over after the 4th and helping me put the motor in the C5. It's a good trade off lol.
moving along. just needed some time off.
oh I also sold the supercharged miata (still have lightning) since that's so far down the list of things to work on. and I bought a jeep with a 351 in it... because there's something wrong with me haha.

NICE! RockAuto has them new but man they are proud of them but are however the cheaper of the new ones! Search the used and ebay...also place an add in the C6 parts section.
My buddy has an ls7 throttle body. He's supposed to let me know what the numbers on it are. I dont knkw if its gold or silver
depends on the year. Also need to pick up the adapter harness too. I got my adapter harness and TB from Ebay. Paid about $300.00 for the TB a year ago almost today.
I purchased a used LS2 TB from a forum member here that claims he is "in the aftermarket industry" and had a source for LS TB take-offs. Turns out it is a junk throttle body and I got fleeced for $225. I purchased one of the re-manufactured LS2 TB's from O'reilly for $295 after a discount code and now I am logging correct TPS sensor percentages thankfully and the tuner can finish getting the idle correct on my car. Just wanted to throw it out there in case it is an easier option for you.
