I would be very interested!!!!! Price is important but so is plug and play, reliability, some sort of guarantee in case one has a problem and availability of replacement parts.

How about just selling the brackets and projectors?

I don't believe you are liable for selling a kit without DOT approval anymore then GM is not allowed to sell non-DOT approved e-code lenses.

Anyway, look forward to seeing your kit.

Not sure what your thinking about brackets but my kit will be sold as a complete kit. E-code headlights passed a standard....a european standard...big difference. The number of ecode lamps vs HID retrofits is astronomical.

I mean as others have posted -- I don't want to buy the wiring or the HIDs (or Halogens) from you. I'm running ecode and HIDs, and would love to dump the glass housing in favor of some projectors.

I understand that there is less profit in selling the associated braketry and projectors individually -- however, you would be able to tap into the market of those of us who already have HIDs and associated parts. Most light kits allow for items to broken up and sold individually.

Most of the parts are already available from forum vendors save for the projectors and associated brackets/adapters. If you sell those pieces alone, you would be able to corner the market. Otherwise, I know those individual pieces will pop up for sale pretty quickly as demand increases.

I have also done what MRAY is trying to do. I installed a pair of e-code Valeo projectors into my stock C5 housings. It retains the highbeam side as well. Actually looks really cool and night lighting is unbelievable. I paid $410 shipped for all of the HID components all oem stuff that is used on BMW's and Audis. Philips D2S bulbs, Valeo e-code projectors, Hella ballasts, ballast holders etc etc.
Here is a pic:

Okay I understand where you are coming from now. I was asked this in my other project and the short answer is no. Two reasons, your bulbs won't fit my projectors and second I don't want the laibility of my parts being sold without meeting it's intended certification. My suggestion would be to sell what you have and buy new units when they are ready.

Thats not what I am doing and I wouldn't sell those. Those do not meet DOT requirements. If individually you want to build your own...thats fine. There is a huge difference between adding projectors to existing capsules and delivering a complete brand new headlight system thats plug and play and keeps us on par with NHTSA.

The latest is I am waiting on two things...

A full set of DOT modules from the manufacturer....currently the us product isn't due to to be available until May.

and some cash to build the protos.

I am having the protos built professionally by my manufacturer who will be build the mass produced units...this way the protos will look identical to the finished product.

On another note..at the same time I am going to pursue a fixed/exposed kit as well. I think we can provide a better product thats cheaper and is HID.

The light modules I want to use are in my opinion, the best out there...it's worth the wait to build a good product. I expect I will have a set for protos here before may.

A little hesitant at the moment because I don't have anything to offer other than some timelines and feature/details.

I can live with that

I read your intro and that was it.
Sooo you are offering a HID kit for the C5 that is differentiated by using actual HID projectors?? So what we would be getting is a TRUE HID setup? No more worries about the OEM, U.S. and Euro lenses blinding other drivers or not projecting the light in an effiecient manner?
What is the eta?
