Cleaner look, true, but with the lights down, you would never see the holes. I'm more interested in how they let me see more than how they make me look. I'm sure Mray will do a professional job either way.

Mray, it sounds the better way to go with the holes in the bezel but not sure how visually appealing it would be. A photoshop would quickly resolve this issue.

No holes but you have to remove the headlight surround and the bezel to adjust the headlights?
No holes! Surrounds and bezels are not very hard to remove and this is a seldom done procedure anyway.

The holes would be a bit bigger than the diameter of a number two pencil....but no big deal we can do it either way.

Somebody asked for light output? (EDIT- The HID beam is upside down---I couldn't see because my eyes couldn't adjust fast enough.)

Well This first shot (out of focus ...sorry) shows you the same ol' same ol'

This second shot shows you the HID projector....sweet!!!!

And Finally if you are still having trouble seeing the difference...the HID beam is the higher of the two.

Not a pop-up fan, sorry. But I think what really is important is lighting at night and the C5 Lighting is terrible! I just installed a set of SW C5R replicas and bought the REVEXTREME HIDS to put in them. I'm still trying to aim them just a tad higher but the difference between these and the stock C5 Lights are night and day! And the lights in the C5R Replias are half the size of the halogens. I can imagine how bright they would be if you are using HIDS in the size of the Halogen lights. Good luck

There are two things that make great headlights:

The optics

The bulbs

Both of these need to be matched. Half the problem of the Corvette headlights is poor beamspread which is related to optics. It would be much different if the beam was spread more evenly than it is. Replacing the halogen bulb with a brighter one of the same model gives you more/less light in the same places. Installing an HID bulb in the same reflector skews the beam spread in places it shouldn't (detracts from others) and makes it difficult for oncoming motorists to see. not to mention requiries you to readjust them which means you lose beam spread.

The best is to have a matched set of bulbs and optics which put out the optimum lumens and beam spread without creating problems for other motorists.

I like the brightness, but that gap between the stock light beem and yours is not my thing. Are you still working and revising or is this the final product?

I'm waiting for the final prototype and light output specs before any comment. Crossing my fingers for a good system. I believe you are going in the right direction.

mray,

Will the HID low and high beam's light pattern have the sharp cut off at the top unlike what the pictures above depict?

Can you do another photo showing 3 once? If the halogens look good, I'd go for those.

btw - I won't tell you how to hold 'em all AND the camera!

Thanks for all the effort.

Barry

or maybe just the halogen vs. the HID

Barry "showing 3 once"---you lost me

Halogens aren't available right now BUT, I can guarantee you, the halogens will flat smoke the stock headlights...you would be very happy.
