Code C1214?
If cleaning the contacts and grounds doesn't resolve your problem, the next best thing is to have your EBCM re-built. Here's a cut and paste of vendors that have been used successfully in the past;
1. well just wanted to let everyone with this problem know found a place to get this thing repaired and after talkin with Brandon got him to repair and upgrade it for 150.00 plus 8.00 for return next day air .
this is a great price if ya look at cost to replace and customer service was also great. he will gurantee the ecbm for as long as you own the car.So if ya have this problem give him a call , site is absfixer.com or call 877-648-7530 let him know ya heard about him on the form.
2. The name of the company is Auto&Truck Electronics. I am in no way affiliated with them, nor do I recieve any discount or monetary consideration for making this post. I'm making this post in an effort to save you guys some $$$ and hopefully help to prevent future failures given the problematic part could fail again if replaced with another flawed design part(assuming they haven't corrected whatever tends to break). I was a bit leary of this whole deal since I didn't have any references to say it was a good deal, or they did good work etc...
So if anything use me as sort of a guinnea pig in this matter. I had a GREAT experience both with the service of the rep and of the part they fixed for me. In my opinion it's $$ well spent to both save alot of $$$, but also, from what I'm lead to believe, have a much smaller chance of having the part break again. They have a 5yr warranty on their work as well. Their # is 1-800-550-0674
3. I had to have my EBCM re-built 4 months ago. Put it back in the car and no more codes. The company I used is on ebay, but I contacted them directly at http://autoecu.com/ Their phone # is at the bottom of the web page.
Hope this helps you guys out!

Chris.... The procedure for replacing the EBCM is very simple. The only special tool you need is a T-20 torx screw driver. A flathead screwdriver may also be needed to pry apart the EBCM from the BPMV
1 - make sure the car is off.
2 - you will probably need to remove the airbridge to get to the EBCM.
3 - remove the wire harness by first removing the white plastic clip that locks it in place (I cut it off and replaced it with a zip-tie), then lift gray handle and pull back on the wire harness. At this point, you will be able to see the second wire connection that is removed by pulling down.
4 - The service manual call for you the remove the 2 insulator nuts that hold the BPMV to the brackets and lift the EBCM/BPMV out of the bracket. I do not think this step is necessary because there is plenty of room while it is still in the bracket and you do not gain much additional clearance since the brake lines restrict the movement.
5 - Remove the 6 T-20 torx screws connecting the EBCM and BPMV - 1 on each corner and 2 on the sides.
6 - Separate the EBCM from the BPMV by gently pulling apart until separated" In this case, I had to use a flathead screw driver to brake the seal. Once it moved a little, the rest was easy. In addition to the rubber seal, each of the 12 holes have a peg in them from the BPMV. Don't go crazy, but be prepared to force them apart.
7 - At this point, all you've got to do is put it all back together. push the new or repaired EBCM onto the BPMV.
8 - Replace the 6 T-20 torx screws
9 - reconnect the wire harness
10 - put the intake back on
An alternative to buying a new one is to have your original rebuilt.
For EBCM repair/replace

Then it went to a hard code that would not reset. Traction control and ABS lights on dash also.
After much analysis I removed the ABS module and sent it to ABSFIXER.
Brandon received it on Friday, had it repaired and headed back to me on Monday. I installed it tonight, all codes corrected.
Awesome service, I got an email when he received, another when repaired and another when shipped, could not be happier.

Had the same problem about 18 months ago... messed with it again & again.......
So just sent it to absfixer.com (call 877-648-7530) ... Better then new...
But first check your grounds, plug in connectors, and especially the female part of the connectors.. (see Bill Curlee's electrical) on the forum---great info about the female damage's-repairable.... If you do need to send it off you can still drive the vet.. Be kool though...
Yes I have read the thread...
So I have had the C1214 code, did my research and seemed straight forward to remove and get fixed. This morning I removed the ABS module and this is where it got weird. As soon as I pulled it off there was some fluid, not running just dripping. Surprised me since guys drive w/o this part. I put a clean rag down to catch it and came back a hour later and its soaked!
What is going on? Am I going to have to bleed the brakes or any idea of this is a indicator of something else? Anybody else?
Right now I have that "it just got worse feeling"

If theres some sort of fluid in there,,, its either something that leaked in from the OUTSIDE due to an improper seal between the EBTCM and the BPMV OR The BPMV has a bad seal on one of the solenoid poppiy valve pintles. Pressurize the brake hydraulics by pressing hard on the brakes and see if you see any brake fluid leaking from the solenoid pintle valves.

I may be in over my head on this one...
Pretty sure it's not going to be a cheap fix. Can I just replace a poppy valve?
Any words on the way forward would be appreciated.

You can get a used one from Vettenuts which would save you some cash.
Just install it and bleed it like regular brakes. That will get 90 percent of the air out. Sometimes you can run the rear wheel with the rear on stands and the antilock will cycle.
I fhe brakes are still soft after you bleed them, you will have to get access to a GM Tech 2 and do the bleed procedure.
When I put new brake rotors and pads on the car I toyed with the idea of new brake lines but didn't want to crack that seal...now seems like a good time!
I found and bought a BPMV on eBay for $215; still stings but it can always get worse! (I couldn't have said that yesterday)
