and then there are the others that have purchased ssac and reported back their horror stories, burned a/c lines, major misaligned pipes and then have to purchase another 150-200 of pipe to finish the ssac headers on top of install fees and ending up saving about 300 when they could buy the lg street or ar and have a solid product the first time.

No need to call people names or attack someone personally. Grow up kids

Notice how all the 05+ members react to cheap products LoL

You may want to practice reading.

The ssac required additional pipe to finish the install. I never stated anything about modifying tsp headers.

You purchased mild steel headers. NO THANKS

I don't see anything wrong with the cheaper headers. If ya want it to fit like stock then leave it stock. My so called junk ebay headers have been on for three years. I guess it doesn't bother me to get in there and get my hands a little dirty to save some money. Sure, may be a little more work but it's hard for me to believe that the $900-1000 headers really put down that much more power. If money is no object then go for the best but if it is then do a little more work and have extra money for other mods.

Well, I don't know about others, but I paid extra to drive the best American sports car, so I don't mind paying extra for the best headers, the ones that fit, don't require modification to fit, don't touch the chassis anywhere, and will last my cars lifetime without rusting. (not to mention being one of the tops in HP potential). JMHO

Man this is getting crazy. SSAC, lets say 425 with an x pipe, plus fabbed pipe = $500. Rwhp = 17. Yes you have to do a little extra work, but we know this before we buy them. LG's, American Racing, or Kooks, lets just say about $1500 with an x-pipe. Rwhp = 25.

Top name headers = $60 per rwhp(roughly)
SSAC headers = $30 per rwhp(roughly)

Again, these are just guesstimates. Not everyone here bought their car new(including myself). The sticker on my car was $44k new, and that was almost 10 years ago. I got it for $22k, with about $2k in extras. Matter of the fact is that there is now a different generation of people driving C5's, and some of us don't have unlimited budgets. I personally am a substitute teacher and a swim coach, so I am not loaded. I am a certified teacher, but until I get a job I am making pennies for now. I am all about going as fast as I can for as cheap as I can. Yes I know I could have bought an Fbody and gone fast for way cheaper, but it still would have been an fbody.

Now being on a budget and getting the most out of it is always good.

However some of the guys on here are taking a approach of a war against companies that have a product and a price that they set and tend to flood this site with their ebay finding like it is gold and fail to educate others about the repercussions and issues with the cheaper product thinking they got back at the man by spreading the word.

You also may want to check your prices on kooks, lg street and american racing as they all very depending on what you end up with.

Cats no cats, x-pipe no x-pipe etc etc.

The money saved on these headers was worth the trouble installing them. I drove my car on open headers to the exhaust shop and had a custom 3" h-pipe and 3" pipe from the headers to the cat back for $100. So for $520 it was done. Its really not as bad as ppl make it out to be. I knew when buying the headers I was going to have to cut the tunnel plate but I didnt know the drivers header would touch the bellhousing but it does not rattle so I am good with it.

I talked to TSP when I was looking for headers (ended up with ARH) and they said they have a new design coming out at the first of next year (09). I would call them and ask

I don't think so. Their stance all along was their design was fine. I'd get the EBAY headers before TS.

Default Quality

Statement: When you buy quality you only cry once!

Quality is an elusive entity.

Price does not always guarantee quality but often is an indicator.

IMHO satisfaction = quality. Whatever it takes to guarantee each individuals satisfaction is how he perceives quality. This can be different for all of us.

Bottom line is all of us want to feel we got what we paid for in a purchase. This really becomes the issue.

When vendors claim one thing and this turns out to be untrue, then value for our purchase is not there. All most of us want is truth from those whose products we purchase.

This is why this forum is so important. It helps all us to determine what is the quality product or service we are seeking without having to go thru the pain of a bad experience.

Does not always hold true as we all have a different perception of quality and value.

But in most all cases, when you buy quality you only cry once.
