Does anyone have a diagram to show or have any idea if the PINK wire from the RFA runs direct from the RFA to the star connector? If so I am just going to run a new wire. It is such a pain to trace as it runs up under the dash etc etc... I did find a burn mark in it close to the connector so I cut that area out, but it's still the same so I'm thinking it's burnt pretty bad somewhere along the line... thanks!

ugh, thanks Bill! I am assuming that is the instrument panel in the footwell and not the engine bay.

It's in the footwell. Check the fuse box.

The wire that you're looking for runs from the RF box, accross the back rear cargo area and then down the passenger foot well.

You don't have to under the dash at all.

They make a special wire loom tool that allows you cut off the tape pretty easily. Once that is done you should find your problem pretty easily.

If you need more info drop me a PM.

There are at least two pink wires or more in that bundle.

- Disconnect the battery

- Get a conductivity tester (they are slef powered by a battery and hook it on to the one end of the wire by the rcf. Get some coiled up wire (18 GA) or so and add a lead to allow for the distance down by the fuse box.

- Probe the pink wires until you find the one that lights up and yureka, you've issolated the wire you're looking for.

Well my car must be different, the wires from the RFA run up the drivers side of the car! If I can figure out where it goes into the fuse box I might just remove it there and run a new line from there back to the RFA and see what that does for me!

PM you e mail address and I will send you the intrument fues panel in the passengers foot well end views with all the pin numbers and references. There are THREE plugs on the bottom of the fuse box (C1, C2, C3 )

It shows where each plug and pins are it on the fuse block. The pink wire goes from plug C2, pin C10 to plug C3, pin D12. Its a JUMPER and should be easy to find. C3, D12 comes from the RFA.

If I send it to you in e mail, you will get all the pictures.

What year car do you got ?

Both my 2001 coupe and Z06 ran back over to the passenger side.

Must be with older coupes. My Bro's 1999 FRC was wired the same way as my 2001 coupe.

okay, slightly more progress. Today I tracked down all the wiring and basically replaced it all other than the ends. From the RFA to the fuse panel. from the other part of the fuse panel to the star connector. Well I plugged it all in and it actually works fine now with the pink wire connected and doesn't kill all communication! HOWEVER, I still have no communication with the RFA? What gives? THinking maybe a relay or something is bad too? Any of you know which ALL relays/fuses connect with the RFA? Thanks!

I don't care not having tire pressure readings, no biggie to me but having to reset codes EVERY time I drive the car and having no key fob use is getting very old!

So where I was reading zero before on the pink with my issue, after replacing most of the wiring, I am at infinity now... is it supposed to be infinity key on or is something wrong now? Any ideas?

You cant read resistance while the circuit is energized. Yu can only read resistance on a deenergized circuit.

You can read voltage or current and that should be conducted.

Do you have 12 VDC power to the module and do you have proper ground for the module?

Heres the power ground schematic:

You see if you have 12V on the pink wire going into RFA. Black should be ground. The other wire is the data link wire.

Okay so it has been a while since I did the OHM readings... do I want NO power on when doing these? Or key on power? With that, what should my reading on the pink wire be? I am clueless as to why changing the wire out does NOT effect the communication to the entire star connector like it did before but still won't let me get RFA communication! I am going to go over all the new wire in the morning and make sure it is all connected securely!

Thanks!

Jon, with the car on put your black lead on pin G and the red lead on pin A, you should be reading operating voltage (around 12 volts) between the two...

If you aren't reading voltage;

Double check fuse 27, Ohm it out to be sure. If the fuse is good

Use the chassis for the Black lead of your volt meter, if you get voltage then, the Black wire at pin G is broke somewhere. If you stil laren't getting voltage then the Orange wire at pin A is the culprt.

If the fuse is blown, keep the RFA disconnected and put in a new fuse, if it blows again you have to follow that pick off that comes off of connector 1 pin F9 as shown in the schematic Bill just posted.
