Outstanding!!!

On another note, you can use the 2001 newer RFA box along with the new FOBS/TPMS in your '99

As Bill stated, change the pins or swap the connector(3 pins)

the later TPMS and FOBS are about HALF the cost of the early parts

Your wiring to the RFA really runs down the LHS rocker??

I've owned a 98coupe and 99/00FRC and a bunch of Z06's, they all kick over to the pass side

Wiring for the RFA crosses over the hump and down the passenger side to the passenger side foot well.

I have the newer RFA but honestly with all the hassle now and finally getting it to work, I never want to touch it again!

just wanted you to know the newer gear can be easily swapped once you have the newer 01 box in there

haha, I knowwwwwww! This is the one occasion where I will actually follow the logic of, "If it's not broke, don't fix it!"

The sensors are in my tires and working and everything is flawless. If the sensors ever die then I will do the swap

FWIW I used a trick found here also on the forum to learn the TPS sensors using some magnets, thanks everyone!!!!

Hey Guys & Gals,

I know this thread is old, but it actually helped me trouble-shoot a problem I had with my C5 windows.

My windows would intermittently work. Every time I checked the DIC it would say there was "A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION with BCM" for the door modules, seat control module and the HVAC. The rest of the modules worked fine, the car ran fine......just the windows would stop working from time to time.

After reading this post, I decided to check the star connector #2 (see diagram in an earlier post to understand what the star connectors are) to see if I could find any issues with the wiring for the LDCM, RDCM and the SCM. I didn't see any issues. So, I decided to look at star connector #1. When I removed the shorting bar from star connector #1, I noticed one of the pins was bent on the shorting bar. The pin that was bent was the one that connects the serial bus between star connector #1 and star connector #2......which is the purple wire in the harness. The bent pin on the shorting bar was the reason I was losing communication to the BCM.

Sometimes the bent pin would make a connection and sometimes it wouldn't. I straightened the pin and reassembled the star connectors and my problem was solved. I had to reprogram my key fobs and clear the error codes from the DIC. Now the windows work great and there are no more DIC codes.

I want to thank Bill Curlee, Tim (Tstar) and Lucky131969 for helping out my fellow corvette enthusiasts via this forum. If I hadn't come across this thread, I'd still be driving around with intermittently working windows.
