HTH,
Rick L.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I didn't hook it to a car, need some slightly warmer weather, but I did go to the diagnostic section of the tool and it knew the car was not connected.
So far, I'm pleased with my decision to buy it, and pleasantly surprised with the ali-express buying service. I was really worried about them scooping a bunch of dough out of my account, but that did not happen. There is a bunch of stuff for sale on that site.
I think where the problem may come in is the interface between the service manual instructions and the use of the tech 2. Will have to give it a try and see. I would love to find a service manual for my 03 Silverado, but haven't found one. But WTH, the truck never gives a moment's trouble.
The CANdi module was properly connected, and during the sequence it clicks twice, and the light flashes yellow.
What is the experience others have with the CANdi? I got this clone with the CANdi from Ali-express.

BTW I was up in Fredricksburg a couple years ago for a Corvette show. We went on a "scavenger hunt" through the Wilderness. I had been through there several times but never stopped at the park. Amazing the events of the battles there.
I found this document to be a little more useful than the one that came with the Tech2 (on the CD):

That being said I need to put a tag on the various bits because some of them have a couple different names, and sometimes you can only go by a picture to make sure you have the right adapter, especially for the self test and POST.
A while back, I mentioned I couldn't get connected to a vehicle through the CANdi module. here's how I finally solved my problem.
1. with the car ignition off, connect the tech 2 and CANdi (which now is one long cable)
2. Power up the Tech2 You will get 12V from the DLC (now it took me a half hour to find out the "DLC means "Data Link Connector" and is what we also call the OBD2 connector, so be prepared to be stumped by TLA's (Three Letter Acronyms))
3. At the main menu press F3-tool options
4. at the tool options screen select F9, CANDi Diagnostics
5. there are two tests on the next screen, run them both. If you get pass on both, you are good to go. the CANdi should talk to your 2004+ car.
6. Either turn the ignition key of the car to on, or start it (for a C6 there isn't an "on")
7. Press the EXIT button until the Tech 2 goes back to the main menu.
8. Select F0, Diagnostics
9. make all the requested selections to get you to the module in the car you want to look at. you may be choosing body style, you may need the body code (sometimes the third character in the VIN) the engine size, manual or auto and sometimes radio type. You may also be asked about certain options, like ZL6. They are on a tag in the glovebox.
After that you will be quite dangerous with the Tech2.
The key to getting the CANdi to interface was powering up the Tech 2 from the OBD2 before starting the car or turning on the ignition.
Cheers!
For those who have the Knock off tech II in your spare time can you check something out. When I go to Special feature to check things like headlights and windows. When I select the function I want to check, say headlights and hit enter it turns on the headlights. If I scroll down to select right blinker it wont select it, it stays on headlights. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. If I can get some feedback I would appreciate it.
