I think I've read every line in this thread and now I've pulled the trigger on a SP23-C from CareUCar. With my computer skills being pretty much nonexistent, I hope I can get through the initialization, downloading, and all the other stuff I've been reading about. Thanks to all you pioneers who took the first leap and have some of these complexities figured out.
Are these 2 the same except ones comes with the case and the other doesn't? they have different titles..and these are the ones that do the bleed and f45 delete?
Yep, Its there under 2000 also, after choosing chassis diagnostics, then the year, then Y body, It was F0 abs/tcs/vses, then F2 Special Functions, then it was option F1 Automated Bleed.
Thanks very much. If you don't mind, what version/rev level is the software?
I seem to be the hard luck guy with my clone Tech 2. At the advice of 59VetteFI, and long off-line and useful discussions with dadaroo, I connected my Tech 2 to my 2000 FRC to see if I get automated bleed.
(To make a short story long, I purchased mine from Aliexpress and when I connected to my 2000, I did not see the "Automated Bleed "function for the ABS)
After getting a second PCMCIA from the same vendor, still no luck.
BUT
When I lied to the tech 2 and told it my car was a 98, VIOLA!!! The screen I was wanting to see all along.
Now for the bad news, shortly after this, I decided to see what years I would see the function and what would not, but my Tech 2 gave me an error message and quit working, (see the second photo).
i have sold the knockoff gm tech2 for five years and the customers are all from US,today i see your topic and i just come in,most of my customers use them good and they know they are copies, some customers are individual some are just amercian large repair companies,i think the ture is you can save money and use almost the same function gm tech2 as the original ones, thanks

All the Tech 2's should have the same abilities including the above. There may be some quality issues based on who made it. I doubt that more than two manufactures are making them since the market is small. If you doubt that just look at how many they say they have sold.
I have been pleased with mine so far. I got the SP23-C from CareUCar.com. On their website they said the SP23-C was the highest quality one they sold for whatever that is worth.
It also came with the latest software 33.004 which is good to 2013.
Good news, I posted a couple of days ago that I got a keypad error. This persisted for several power up and power down cycles, but i decided to try exercising every button on the Tech 2. After doing that, the next power up, the keypad passed POST test and my Tech 2 now works.
Still working on the issue with year 2000 not showing automated bleed but there is a work around. as posted previously.
I ordered an SP23-C Tech2 from CareUCar on the 5th and I got it today the 9th.
Ordered 4/5/15 10:30 p.m.
Shipping Notice 4/8/15 1:00 a.m.
Delivered DHL 4/9/15 11:30 a.m
I got the 33.004 software and five other discs in the box. This is going to take some study. Luckily, my tuner said he wanted to see it when I got it and that I should bring it down and we'll play with it. Oh Yea we're going to take him up on that offer. Anyway, I thought this delivery was incredible, I wasn't really expecting this thing for 2 or 3 weeks. Whoo Hooo!
