Glad that so many of you were able to use this fix, however, it didn't work for me. Followed the directions, car outside and running, removed the map dvd, inserted the "fix" cd-r, got the message that this was not a map dvd, waited for over a minute and nothing.
Any suggestions?
Same here. I burned the file after unzipping....inserted it into the radio and player as directed....got the whole not a map dvd warning......I even had the IT dept from work burn a 2nd CD.....again, nothing. Would anyone be willing to burn me one that they know works? This radio/clock issue drives me and my case of OCD absolutely insane.....lol. I’d be more pay ya for your trouble. Thanks in advance everyone.
I had to install and remove the disc a couple of times I also tried turning radio on and off and nav off and on. Also when you down load the file make sure that only the extracted files on disc. It will not work if it is in a folder.

Yeah I did everything thing that you mentioned to no avail. Only once did I even hear any noise out of the radio like it was trying to play it so I dunno what the deal is.

Something came to mind this morning. I wonder if this is a permanent firmware update, or something you have to re-install, each time the car battery is disconnected? If so, I'd hold on to those discs for a while. Has anyone disconnected the battery since the update?
For those who are having this problem, try burning the CD with the tool I mentioned in post # 70. From what others said and from what I found, non all burners work, even though they appear to and produce a file that looks good.
Worked perfect. Many thanks. If anyone is having issues and would like my disc let me know. I just ask you pay if forward to anyone having trouble making a disc.
Hey, just a heads up.....I sent you a response with my info....but I'm not sure if it actually went through (never saw a confirmation in the sent message folder) so you might have multiple msgs or you may have none....so just in case, Larry Mowery, 2202 Adeline St., Hattiesburg, MS 39401. Thanks again.----Larry M.
Late to the conversation and a slightly different topic. My 2008 C6 LS3 has the Bose system, HUD, etc but no NAV.
I recall seeing a thread about putting later model years NAV head untis into older C6s . ie a 2012 NAV into a 2008 such as mine.
Does anyone have personal experience with this? Cleveland Power & Performance claim the NAV must be coming from the exact same year vehicle that its going into.

Any year Nav unit will work in any year C6. Once installed, and the car is started, the theft lock feature will enable, then you need to go to a dealer to marry the nav unit to the Vin # of your C6. If someone you know has a Tech II scan tool, that is what marries the Nav unit to your vehicle.
Anyone having problems or luck with Verbatim CD-R's? I followed all the instructions exactly, even tried different burner programs and no luck. Keep getting error message.

That is what I used for the CD-R was a Verbatim, burned the LOADING.KWI file onto the CD-R using Nero Express, and it worked the very first try. I inserted into the Nav DVD slot, and immediately started to load the file.
I sent that CD-R to a forum member that could not get it to load up. I haven't heard back from him as to if it worked or not. As soon as I do, I'll post.

I disconnected my battery to remove my air bag for a paddle shift mod. The radio had no issues after I reconnected it. I did toss the disk in my corvette folder just in case!

I swapped two wires on the right paddle to make the pull function work like F1. Right is up shift, left is down shift. Here is the link: http://www.bratten.org/C6/Paddle/index.html.

Yup, did that years ago. It's good to know that the clock will come back if battery disconnected.
