Default Nike cylinder heads, JUST DO IT

Joe, your wide-body exterior will not be happy until you do something with the cylinder heads under the hood. And Spin has made you an offer that you can't refuse . . . .

TF or bust, Joe, go for it !

I’m looking at getting a set of TFs for Father’s Day. A few questions for you.

Did you buy new any new FAST gaskets for the FAST or were you able to reuse the original ones?

I see that the TFs have either 70cc or 65cc chambers. You choose the 65cc and had them cut to make the chamber size 59cc. What does this do?

Which head gasket did you use?

Other than the cutting of the chambers did you do anything else to the heads?

Man those pics , I'd love to be there with you guys. I can only imagine
a ride in Phil's 427 Stroker. How many RWHP'/TQ can possibly be there.
I was just thinking maybe I can turn 6.89 @ 106 MPH at one of those downhill tracks.

I think a set of TRICK FLOW 225's will be a excellent Fathers day present . Yes they come in 65CC Chambers and I had to instruct to cut
.035 off the Chamber side to get to 59 CC. There is also two things needed to use them . 7.500 Push Rods and Yella Terra Roller Rockers.
Figure on saving $3,000 for all that. Average gains are 40- 60 RWHP
reported.

Spin estimates 487RWHP and my bet he is right on, the question is how much more can you add and still be usable? OK, there is 1,000 ways to define usable, but I am talking about the average guy that my do a couple of track day (roadracing) a year.

Nice job Leon! wish I lived close to see it live.

I have the Yella Terra Roller Rockers 1.7 on my stock 243s. I thing down.

Can get new rods.

I will do the work myself, except for the re-tune. I enjoy working on the car. It's a stress relief away from all the women in my home.

What does going from 70cc or 65cc’s all the way down to 59cc do for you?

I'm trying to just figure out what the difference in size is and does.

Did you use the Cometic Head Gaskets or did you stay with OEM ones? I found folks are going either way. What does the thinner gasket and milling the heads do? As far as power and compression?

Does the size of your cam have anything to do with whether or not you mill the heads?

Thank You

This Car is LETHAL now. In second and third wheel spin at partial pedal
and I never had it near to the Floor. The Torque is there instantly. Engine
ran at a cool 190 and no leaks or funny engine noises at least as of yet.
I am super happy about this install although I had my follies it was a tremendous learning experience. I know there is more than 20RWHP but
it feels like I added another 100RWHP/TQ.
c'mon Leon this isn't fair. I'm just getting used to the cam and now you've got me thinking heads......

can't wait to see the dyno results/gains

Well I'm just glad to get this Machine together and not have issues by
failing parts or improper install. Its so easy to make A mistake like leaving the #3 Fuel injector Plug off. The car started, idled and even had some
snap around 4,000 RPM all in the driveway but I felt something wrong and the CEL confirmed it. Found the problem quickly then took it for a ride,
giving it a little shot in second & third Gears but no WOT. I feel it needs A tune as I now have some slight bucking around 1500 RPM which I did not have before. What do you think I should Dyno ? Leon

Default Today was dyno day

Well I woke up this morning with a terrible headache. The day got more interesting as dyno time neared.

I think I'd find a new dyno....that doesn't make sense. The butt-o-meter wouldn't be that wrong.

Huh? That can't be right. Or do you mean 535/499?
