One thing is for sure, everyone on this thread raving about how much of a difference it makes are not making it up, you'd never get that many people to create false recommendations...this isn't Yelp you know....
Totally agree. I'm very skeptical and when I saw this very thread, I was filled with doubt. Then I saw dozens and dozens of posts on a Camaro forum about positive feedback and I knew, there's no way all those people were getting fooled. Not only that, but I never found 1 single post where someone had bought it and said it sucked. Not 1.
I read all of the positive reports, and debated on buying one. I decided that I wasn't out much if I didn't like it since I could resell it easily, so I placed my order on 8/31. I received it on Friday and installed it on Saturday. I didn't drive the car until this morning and all I can say is: If you are on the fence, get one. I'm going to have to recalibrate my right foot.
I've got mine set on SP6 and it feels like driving a car with a cable-driven throttle; it's very linear in feel now. There is no lag when you step on the gas, and the transmission kicks down right away like it should, instead of waiting for a half second before it decides to lazily respond to your throttle input. It will be interesting to try the economy settings....

Excellent.
I agree. It is like having the paddle controls on the pedal. About instant down shifting and to what ever gear you like, when you want.

Nice! I ordered mine yesterday... figured $180 wasn't a big deal to give it a try. I truly miss cable-controlled throttle. My C5Z is much more linear than my C6 in its DBW, so it has never really bothered me on that car.

I thought I would add that I have the Vette licensed with HP Tuners and have access to the throttle calibration tables. I have been really tempted to "adjust" the tables, but there is a warning from HPT that you might brick the ecm/tcm if you do. Rather than risk that, this was the easy decision to make.

I noticed those warnings as well. I've found a post or two from the owner of HPTuners saying it was more an issue on hen 3 computers, but I haven't had the nerve to try messing with them yet.
I've spent big bucks because of this forum. Unfortunately since I have an 05 I can't spend any on this. If it worked on 05's I'd have one by now.
I can tell you that you won't be disappointed with the COW booster. My car is an 05 too.
You only have 3 settings but you'll end up on one anyway. How many times do you adjust your seat or your HUD angle? You find one setting you like and stick with it.

You can. Chuck can program different throttle sensitivity into the computer, then you as the user choose them by going from regular mode, traction control off, and competitive mode.
I've had a COW booster for years now and it really works as described here for making the car feel a lot more peppy. And it's great for heel and toe throttle blips which is why I got it. By the way my Prius has three modes based on different button sets as well, and I understand the C7 has different throttle maps based on different active handling settings as well so this way to modify how the car feels is becoming very common.
Thank you Joe!
And still the ONLY throttle control product available for the 2005 C6 Corvette!
I installed my Vitesse controller on my 2012 A6 tuned Grand Sport on Saturday morning - took me about 30 min to install and mount the remote on the dash. Only had a few minutes of drive time so far, but I'm very impressed with the simplicity of the unit and ease of installation. It significantly improves/changes the throttle response and makes it a blast to drive. Seems like SP 5/6 is just fine for street driving. Thanks to all who have provided feedback on this device! Money well spent in my opinion - can't go wrong with this simple but significant mod!
