As nasty as that end cap looks (BRomanelli's), it does get hidden behind a panel. It does bother me, though, that someone would allow such shoddy work to be shipped out to customers - pride in one's work reflects quality throughout the product, whether it's displayed for all to see or hidden behind a panel. I've been designing products, fixtures and machinery for a long time and, regardless if someone is going to see it or not, I take pride in making everything look like someone really took the time to do it right. That said, pretty easy to make your own end cap if you've a bit of mechanical skilz. If mine come in looking ragged, I'll either machine some out of sheet AL or pump new ones out on our 3D printer. Making these by hand is also not a big deal - just more time-consuming.
I just called got one guy on the phone the azz hole hung up on me really. I called back got a George he did pull me up said my order was going to ship today are NO later than tomorrow. He even ask me did I want to keep the order r cancel it. I told him NO if 100% was going to ship out that is the order itself & not just a email saying it will ship within a week are so I would keep it & except a email on it by tomorrow.. WE WILL SEE...Plus GUYS I had to be way down on the list in batch 2 here..
HAS SOMEONE GOT THIS UNIT INSTALLED AND WORKING LIKE IT SAYS IT WILL YEY...Robert

They say on the phone very 1st thing MADE IN AMERICAN support the U.S. Robert
I plan on starting my installation at 1P today. I'm still debating on how to mount the Navtool. I'm leaning toward velcroing it to the HMI. Whatever...
I'll figure out something when it comes time to anchor it down.
I don't know how much heat either units put out, but I'd be cautious of attaching them to each other. They might need some breathing room. Just a thought...

As I said, gotta see what space I have to work with when we get to that part of the install. Maybe a 10 penny nail? A couple of lag bolts? Elmer's Glue?

Elmer,
From previous posts I believe you also have installed the PYLE PLCM38FRV front camera. I am in the process of installing my camera so that I am prepared to install the NavTool. I have two questions. I ran the wires into the engine compartment from the front grill. Can you tell me which fuse you tapped into? Also, I am having a problem finding a ground. Can you tell me if it is necessary to ground the black wire? If so, where did you pick up a ground? Thanks,

If I get mine this is what I was going to do also just put 2 really good wide piece's that will also give a little space between them but also hold it firm & level.... Robert
You have to ground the black wire. I added the wire to the ground bolt found on the passenger side fender. It sits just to the rear of the air filter.
As far as a fuse, I went by this list and picked one that would be easy to work on!
C7 CorvetteEngine Compartment Fuse Box
Listed below are some of the easily accessible fuses that can be “tapped” easily with an add on "micro" fuse tap device generally available.
Only those with no voltage with the engine off are listed.
Those with an “X” after them have normal ~12 volt DC voltage when the engine is running.

You can tap into fuse 15, 30, or 36. They all only have power when the engine is running.
For the ground, on the passenger side there is a nut to the front of the fuse box that already has a ground wire attached to it. I just loosened the nut and added another wire.
On the driver's side there are three nuts with existing ground wires that can be used.
I have already installed my front camera and two side cameras and have an additional component to mirror my phone to the system.
I am still waiting on my unit. Was #69 on the list. Have been lied to repeatedly. Yesterday they said it went out in the afternoon. No movement on tracking number. E-mailed them today and they said it went out in this mornings batch. I hope it eventually gets sent.
Also I used back split 1/4" diameter plastic loom to hide all wires. Just need the unit!
Here are a couple of pics of the engine compartment ground lug. It is much easier to add an additional M8 X 1.25 nut to the existing stud than to remove the original nut (access issues). Ignore extraneous text as these pics were for another project.

I agree. It appears the HMI puts out enough heat to require a fan and it looks to have an antenna (Bluetooth?) in one corner - might want to stay away from that also.

Jerry,
Thanks for the information. I connected to the ground on the passenger side. I made one mistake. I took the not completely off so I could get a ring wire connector under it. Naturally, when I put the nut back on I dropped it and spent over an hour until I finally found it. I had to take the passenger side front tire off to find the nut. Now I need to run to the auto store to buy a fuse tap and some quarter inch plastic loom.
After that I need to run the video lead into the passenger side foot well. Was it difficult getting the necessary molding off to access the opening to feed the video lead in? Hopefully I will be able to install the NavTool Tomorrow. Thanks,

I wish I had thought of putting a nut on that stud instead of taking it out. I ended up dropping and losing it, and it took about an hour to find it. As I mentioned in my other post, I had to take the right front wheel off in order to find it. I wish I had seen your post before I ran into that problem. Thanks,
Norm
I haven't heard dick from them and I was at the top of the list. I just put a dispute in with AMEX and we'll see which happens first. This is still such an incredibly bad way to do business I really don't know if I want their $hit in my car at this point.

Like I said today I called them talk with a George said I was on the list to go out by tomorrow AT THE LATEST. He was the first to ask me did I want a refund. I did tell him I will wait until to morrow to see if I do get a email on a tracking # if not I will be also. But will call back and will ask for him. Due to the other guy telling my card co he wasn't going to refund to the 60 days cause I told him I would give him until the 29th of march.
ALSO WKMCD I was on the bottom of the 2 batch list myself I had to be.. Robert
Ok so I got mine hooked up and I can't get it to mirror of my phone? I know you have to toggle through the back button but the mirror feature is not letting me toggle to it?

A quick update. We were done in 1 hour and 15 minutes and then the poo hit the fan. The front camera flat quit. We played with it for a total of 3 hours and called it a day to get some supper.
I sent a message to Navtool and told them my symptoms. I received an almost immediate response and they said, cmos of the camera overheating, power lead to the camera or ground. I went into the fuse box and cut out the wire joint, stripped some bare wire and then soldered the connection. I covered that with shrink wrap and my camera has worked for the last 5 tries. I think that may have been the cause of the problem. I'm done for now and I'll work on the pictures later this evening and post them. Honestly? The pictures that Navtool posted are the same as the ones I took except they had a white car and mine is torch red.
I made some pictures of where we mounted the navtool and it fits like a glove. No velcro used but we did fasten it in place with wire ties and it is rock solid!
Today's lesson? Screw crimping a connection! Solder the bastard!
Pictures to follow.

Do you see the mirror as an option in the menu? I have ONLY 1 option and that is the front camera. I can't get to the mirror option.
