Lighten up folks, this was meant to be just a light-hearted thread about the trials and tribulations of keeping a black car looking nice.
You have no credibility here unless you own one. If you have a white car, you should be ashamed to even comment.

Pretty messed up
I have a white C7 stingray and i love that fine yellow coating I have at this time of the year. Add to that are the paw prints of my 6 kitty cats that create an unparalleled design that I cant simply wash off. I admire it until the next rain washes it all away.

After my ocd with my new Sierra settled down (black because it's an all terrain model, wife wanted the tough truck look), I ceramic coated the truck and now I pay it no mind. Didn't wash it for a month at least and it was filthy.
I can now say I may have a relapse at some pout and actually own a black toy again.
OP, I feel your pain, only one friend of mine has same issue all others don't care what their vettes look like (or any other car). I'm just too busy in life to let that sickness consume me as it used to. 44yo I'm done with it. But I can honestly say up to age 40 (and coming from nothing) I treated my cars as if they were worthless unless they were spotless.
washing and detailing even my kids cars are also therapy for me. Automotive OCD... are there any support groups lol

I've owned multiple black cars 1 of which was a black vette, so I am completely justified in telling the OP he's cuckoo for cocoa puffs

I owned "two" black Corvettes - my first AND last.

I got over it a few cars back. The song says it best: "So you got a car, that don't impress me much!" Keep it nice but don't ruin friendships or your marriage over a few fingerprints, smudges or marks. Not worth it! Remember when you trade all the blemishes go with it.

And the serious comments keep on rolling in . . . has anyone mentioned yet, that this was just a humor thread . . . many of us were simply making fun of ourselves.

I think most understood the self-deprecating nature of the post. I realize, though, that I need to lighten up about passenger paw prints. One paw print at a time....
You, sir, have not been studying all my threads carefully enough:
