FWIW, it is my opinion a true Sportscar is RWD.
However, you have a point.
The Z06 has to be driven cautiously, not *****-to-the-wall with regard to the right foot.

Why do you feel that a true sports car MUST be real wheel drive? Just curious. I have always thought a car that is designed from the ground up for speed and handling over comfort or fuel economy or practicality is considered a sports car. Merriam-Webster says

Definition of sports car
: a low small usually 2-passenger automobile designed for quick response, easy maneuverability, and high-speed driving.

OP you can also argue that in as much as 460HP is the same in GS as in Base Stingray so why step up for a wider body with same power. I have long thought that Chevy should boost GS HP above the Base StingRay. Seem to be the right thing to do to better seperate the two cars.

Why these threads lol.

if you're a performance junkie you want the power. Espexially the low end torque the blower gives you. It completely changes the driving experience from wow to OMFG THIS CAR IS THE FASTEST THING ON 4 WHEELS. Anyone referencing the 190hp more well. Don't forget the torque curve cause that's wjat gets you moving from 0 to whatever. And that's where this car is most fun. Like having a finger on a missle trigger. At any moment you could anniahlate the universe lol.

if you came from. A C6 you Want the Z06 power. If you came from a C5? Stingrays LT1 is great.

460 HP is plenty good for me. I guess it all depends on how comfortable you are with the butt-cheek clench factor of going beyond, and in some cases well beyond the LT-1. Some folks need that otherwise fear inducing adrenaline rush; there are people out there who like jumping out of planes...

I feel that the C7, in its current configuration, is balanced with 460HP; the platform just gets progressively more unsettled as power climbs.

Because it has been the Old School definition going waaaay back.
Although from driver-to-driver handling characteristics comfort zones differ, I prefer the traditional oversteer bias to understeer in the twisties.
Of course, YMMV.

And, even though I gave up bragging rights for the 650 HP, I realized it doesn't matter what aspect you talk about, someone else is going to have something bigger or better. So why sweat it?

Keep the Wave!!!!

This was the decision I came to as well. I plan to track my GS but decided I can have just as much fun with $20k more in my pocket than the additional 190HP. It wasn't as much a limit to funds but for every extra dollar that is spent, it isn't spent on something else. My 2 cents...

Smat move. This late into the run just wait for C8. You already have a C7. So what it's not the sexy beast the C7Z is. Neither is a C7Z compared to a 918 or LaFerrari. Just becaise you CAN buy something doesn't make it worthwhile.

Exactly.

And in a few months your dealer will probably be begging you to buy a Z06.

The comment where can you use that power?? I have heard that phrase since the 60 's. Still funny if you don't know. I have had all the Z cars and have 650 HP now. Already not enough, owned it about a year now.
Waiting for something with more power. Just so its not mid engine!

Good one.
I read all responses in threads & it was mentioned more than once this was a dick measuring thread, so I thought I'd chime in with my lowly 8".

Gary financial hole is never a good thing but something tells me you aren't done dealing for a Z06 yet . Just don't do it unless you get your price or you will have a severe case of BUYERS REMORSE!!!!!

This!
Who buys one of these and never wants to get on it?
Not many Id bet

x2 on the torque curve
460hp thats useable vs 460 that only makes it upstairs, big difference
Love big power but if its only useable well above hwy speeds whats the point unless you live literally in the middle of nowhere.
Think the GS should have a little more, too. Has the looks but nothing else?

If GM wants to really improve its image get the electronics right on these, thats been a sorespot for many many years, lots of owners dont drive them caus ethey know somethings gonna go.

Making one that doesnt leak would help, too.

I love to point and shoot, and I'm not talking about a camera.
Upgrading to Z06 soon. Addicted to horsepower. I am, I am.
