I have the dealer installed factory wind deflector, so that may cut out any extraneous noise from the rear (unless I have the NPP open and am in Sport). Frankly I like the stereo and subwoofer that comes with the 3LZ so haven't felt a need to add anything to it. Particularly as driving with the top down is more of an enjoying nature thing than a hear loud music thing. But that is very much a personal preference.

And the perpetual top down grin is why a convertible is so desirable.

When I logged onto the forum for the first time last month I received lots of advice and one of my questions was on the wind deflector. Several guys felt it was not needed and a few others used a very cost effective after market deflector I will consider if needed. Below is the information

the GM version, the Windrestrictor costs hundreds less, does not require permanent drilled holes, and looks sleeker IMO. My wife and I have driven C7 Verts with and without it. The Windrestrictor definitely reduces the blowing of her long hair with the windows up or down vs not having it. Not sure, however, if it reduces cabin noise due to the wind when the top is down.

2014-2018 C7 Corvette Stingray Wind Restrictor

The only Corvette Wind Restrictor in the World that doesn't need to be removed with the top up or down!

If you are like me and have a C7 Convertible, you know how much wind can blow through the cabin at highway speeds. My wife really hates it - after spending 30 minutes doing her hair! This C7 Wind Restrictor is really the answer. This piece will remove almost all wind blowing through the cabin at any speed. Bolts in place so there is no drilling required. It comes with its own 12 volt battery source that is rechargeable once the battery drains down.

Yes, the factory dealer installed option was $1295, but it was on the car in inventory at Abel that I bought. So I got it. Cheaper models do exist. My wife has a deflector on her Mini Convertible. I did not on my M3 Vert, so I am ambivalent about them, but this one on the Z seems to work well. Being bald has its advantages and top down driving is one of them.

I have an issue with my top where the material is starting to pull away from the stitching over the passenger side window. I've only had the car 11 months and have only put 3500 miles on it. My question is, has anybody else had this issue and was the dealer able to fix it satisfactorily? These tops fit so tight and precisely that I'm worried the it will never be right again after the dealer has tried to fix it.

Yes. Mine was not nearly as bad but was in the exact same spot. I only had 4 threads pulling loose. Solution" new top under warranty. No muss, no fuss. Frankly I thought they would try and resew it but their immediate offer was a new top. Looks better than new now.

Mine did start out as just e few threads towards the end of last year and I tried to ignore it but since I've been using the car a lot more recently and lower the roof a couple times of day it has started to work free. I have an appointment with the service manager at the dealership I bought. Hopefully, they stand behind it like they did yours.

Hmmmmm. I've got a few threads showing on my top. Driver's side though. Guess I better keep an eye on it.

Default Just an old 2017 leftover

Started with a 1977, then 78, two 63's, 68, 76, 1999, 98 Pace Car, 2017 coupe and now with the convertible. I like this one the best of them all.

I have ‘’15 SROM Z06 convertible also. Only 68 made that year. I get many compliments on my ‘copper’ colored Vette! Very unique.

Like you I get many compliments, many very young admire it cause its a vette but color plays an important part for those wanting a pic. The chrome wheels really set it off in my opinion....I'm glad they stopped production of the DSOM, I can say it's a special order........ I did order it my way.............LOL

There's some good looking Vette's in this Convertible Sub Section, and this is probably off topic, but I didn't see one owner of these C7's mention the crummy A8 transmissions in these cars. Hopefully you're not dealing with the problems I'm having...............

The last Corvette I had with an automatic transmission was in 1964 on my 63 split window with PowerGlide 2 speed auto. I wished then I had the 4 speed box, but secretly I loved the auto. No problems ever. After a series of manuals I now have a '14 with A6 and I love it also. I had serious issues when I bought the car last year in that it did not have the A8, Being a senior with bad knees I wanted an auto, but the Vette otherwise was exactly what I was looking for. Some research on the A6 convinced me that it was an excellent transmission and a good choice for my driving needs. 29 mpg on my Z51 on 560 mile trips from Florida to northern Georgia and 0 t0 60 times of 4.1 seconds. No problems.
