Looks good. There didn't seem to be any first year problems with the C7...I see you have been here for a long time, so qualify for chrome wheels.

The 14's have a proven reliability record. They seem to have busted that "First year" myth wide open. The only thing I can think of is some of the early builds had problems with the infotainment system. However, it happened early on, and if this one had the problem it would have surely been fixed by now. It's a beauty, and if you get it for 35K you will be very lucky. So, good luck with that.

Well, I will be trading in my Mercedes on it so it will just be a numbers game with the dealer....

Pay close attantion to panel gaps (especially around the doors; door to fenders can be wonky. Also, pay attention for paint issues. Some 2014s had really really bad paint. Other than that they're mechanically great; mine is a 2014.

If you're trading in a gasser Mercedes, you're doing the right thing. Other than the chrome wheels and A6, the asking is excellent for the car.

Yup......using the convertible top even leaving it down for a couple days will bring the lines and bar lines into visual focus. It's part and parcel of owning and using the convertible's features.

Default To Vert or Not To Vert....that is the question...

There's some kind of mystical, magic-ie, thing with the C7 going on. At first I am absolutely convinced I know what I want...Coupe in all black (exterior, interior, wheels). But then I will see a C7 in WGG, or Orange, or Blue, and doubts creep in. But at least I KNOW I still want a Coupe....but then I see another few pics (like Foosh's all back Vert) or the ad below that knocks me back into doubt-land.

With the great targa option that comes with all coupes, how did you know that a convertible was right for you?

I had a convertible Mustang Cobra in the late 90s and a convertible C5. I have a coupe C7 only because I regularly track the car. If I wasn't into the trackday/TT/instructing hobby I would have a vert 100%. The targa, while nice, is not the same experience. You can still sense the b-pillar and rear hatch behind you in your periphery and in the rear view mirror, additionally there is a lot of wind buffeting and being 6'3" I feel it being up higher in the cabin, if you're shorter you may not feel that. The convertible is a much more open feel and more comfortable with less wind turbulence. Also, top down, the exhaust is louder.

I had a coupe for 3 years. Every time I visited my mom in FL, all I wanted to do was put the top down on her vert. When you travel, there's no room to store the targa in a coupe and the feeling of freedom in a vert can't be described. Besides, all you do is push a button and the top is down! I just got a GS vert and will never go back.

My previous Corvette was a 96 GS convertible. I was so taken in by the sleek looks of the 17 GS Z07 coupe that I bought it. Tired of the noisy interior, I never track and due to joint issues want an automatic. Also didn't realize how much I would miss top down cruising. So I have a Z06 Convertible with automatic that goes down the production line next week.

I figured this one out when I was a teenager. Toy cars that are fair-weather only should be a convertible. The only downside is that it doesn't look as good as a coupe when the top up. But the view from the drivers seat is spectacular with the top down.

I think the simple answer is either you are a Vert person or you are not.

The Coupe with the top off is nowhere near the same experience as the top down. I don't care what the coupe (only) owners tell you. Those of us who have owned both will tell you the truth: driving a coupe with top off is less than half as good as driving a Vert with the top down, and is four times the hassle.
