There's some kind of mystical, magic-ie, thing with the C7 going on. At first I am absolutely convinced I know what I want...Coupe in all black (exterior, interior, wheels). But then I will see a C7 in WGG, or Orange, or Blue, and doubts creep in. But at least I KNOW I still want a Coupe....but then I see another few pics (like Foosh's all back Vert) or the ad below that knocks me back into doubt-land.
With the great targa option that comes with all coupes, how did you know that a convertible was right for you?
My first convertible was a used 1965 Chevrolet Impala at the ripe old age of 16 . From the first drive, on that prefect day, I was hooked. Due to being as poor as a church mouse when we first got married it took me awhile before I could buy another drop top. But, now if the top don't drop I just don't want it. As one of our members said, you like a convertible or you don't. If you can drive a coupe, and a convertible, that may help in your decision. After you get that decision out of the way, the color of the car is the hardest thing for many of us also. Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. There's a 2014 3LT Vert in my town w/25K miles priced at $44,900. There are some threads on the forum speaking to the leather delam with the 3LT's. I would think if it's not bad a good upholstery shop could handle the problem easily. Also, wrinkles on a convertible top are the nature of the beast. There isn't any way to avoid them if you use the top. The ones on "Dale#3;s" Vert is out of the normal range as I haven't seen one do like his has. So, if there are wrinkles on the top of the one you are looking at don't let that be a deal breaker if you really like the car. A 2014 C7 has a proven record of reliability. We have several members here with close to, and over 100K miles on theirs with nothing but the usual maintenance needed. Good luck, and welcome to the forum. Post some pics here if you make the deal.

Passed on that deal, didn't think I could live with the dash. Instead I bought a 14 vert cyber gray with red int. M7 that is pristine but that doesn't want to go into reverse....If anyone can give me some quick advice I would greatly appreciate it. $2000 and not had it a week, gm trans warranty won't cover the reverse lockout solenoid, the Jaguar dealer I bought it from 4 hours away has promised they will get back with me today on any decision. Its at the local chevy near me, should I just pay it, get it fixed and then see if they'll reimburse me for it, help pay etc. or wait it out, drive it till it becomes no reverse or ???. Jaguar dealer also has a GMC dealership. I now know why the salesman backed it into the space ea time. No option to return the car, already asked.
I think the simple answer is either you are a Vert person or you are not.
The Coupe with the top off is nowhere near the same experience as the top down. I don't care what the coupe (only) owners tell you. Those of us who have owned both will tell you the truth: driving a coupe with top off is less than half as good as driving a Vert with the top down, and is four times the hassle.
Convertible was quieter inside than the coupe in my opinion.
That seems to be the consensus, and one reason why I am planning to buy a convertible. The other big reason is ease of use. I know I will push the button more often than I will remove and store the top...

My first test drive was a Cyber Grey with AR interior, couldn't make a deal though. I would hope that by now the selling dealer has contacted you, and at least anted up some dough to help you out. I think many of us has been in a similar situation sometime in our lives. But, in the big scheme of things it's really doesn't rank high on the list. Whatever happens I would just get 'er fixed, and not look back. Life's just to damn short to let things like that bother us anymore. Good luck.
Walter Mitty: How did you know a convertible was right for you? With that great targa top ¥ of the hatchback)?
Same way I knew an auto transmission was wrong for me. Think it through, and decide. The hatchback was wrong for me...I had the miserable t-tops of a new C3 coupe, 43 years ago. Fooling with em was just nuts...The C7 convertible is a $5,000.00+ cost option new. That's what may hold some back. However, they may not mention that. Also, the convertibles are not customarily bought for stock. Hatchbacks abound like flies on Chev. dealers lots, bought on speculation.
I test drove a used z06 targa and watched the sales guy struggle taking off and putting on the top, that was enough for me
FWIW the targa is very easy to use once you're used to it and being carbon fiber on the C7 with a magnesium frame it's very light. But even then, it's still more involved than the Convertible and taking it in out multiple times a day gets old even for me I'm 6'3" so leverage to get it in/out is easier than if you're shorter. If I'm taking my car to work on a nice day I'll take it in/out a few times a day. Morning for drive to work, then lunch, and then the drive home. It's parked outside at the office so I don't leave the top out. My C8 will be a convertible.
I love the Vert. It is so easy to just take the top down and then just put it up with the flip of the switch. I have had the rood panel version as well and definitely prefer the Vert. Of course there a million reasons each of us has for the type of Corvette we want and dream of. Mine just happens to be my 2016 Z06 Vert. It gives me goosebumps every time I drive it.

Are we still going to call it a convertible? Or will it be a Spider or Spyder? Given the ME design?
I don't care for the "sypder" terminology. Makes me thing of the 90s Mitsubishi Eclipse Sypder. I suspect it will be a hard top retractable convertible with roof "buttresses" behind you with integrated roll hoops (possibly). I will call mine a convertible I guess

Thanks RY, right after reading your post, decided to pay the $2k, 10 min later the Gen Mgr called and said they'd pay for the repair, its at the local chevy dealer now getting the reverse lockout replaced. I'll post pics when all is buttoned up.
