I track mine regularly. Angelwings Tech has a really nice looking bolt-in roll bar for track day use.

After seeing this bar, I contacted the fabrictor of my race car and told him about the bar. Apparently he had been shown it early on and turned thumbs down on it. I forget the direction in which it will fail, but apparently there is one. The good news is that it will get you past tech with a lot of HPDE groups. The bad news is that it may not work if you go upside down. Having been upside down at Autoclub Speedway, I place great value on a cage that will work under any condition.

By the way, I think the expected failure is the opposite direction of my shunt above. In my case and many cases of upside down the force is from the front of the bar backwards or straight down. I recall the failure mode that concerned him was a force from the top of the bar forward, not backward or down, and that would be less likely but not zero.
