Also for those of you drag racing autos are you leaving it in D? I tried to paddle shift mine on the street and there's a huge delay from when I hit the paddle to when it shifts, I am assuming the paddles are for road racing not drag racing.
The unfortunate thing is the transmission seems to short shift when left in D, or maybe the tach just can't keep up in the lower gears because it revs so fast.
Ever notice it short shift on it's own? Usually first and second, I have seen this on PDR recordings as well.
I have the A6.....so it seems like the A8 is a little different from first to second. But I can tell you that it all depends on your launch technique. I honestly believe that the shift from first to second in D mode is going to react to on how high or low you stall it from launch. The A8 is so quick from first to second to what I've noticed from your video and others. When you get a chance, go back to the C7 Fast List and read the technique from WFARMER,Snorman and VNAMVET.

I think I asked about technique but never got a response, I didn't realize they had already typed it somewhere in the thread. I will re-read back through and see.
I am almost thinking that letting the converter flash a little bit off idle might be better than what I was doing, I brought it up on the converter about as hard as I could (2100 rpm ish) and it just hooked and went. It's amazing how well these tires work with a little heat in them.
Awesome, it would be great to meet up. I have a white A8 Z51.
In your opinion is there a difference in times/mph for MIR and Richmond? Weather and traction being equal.
I run about the same times at both tracks.I figured id run tomorrow, there was a guy at the dealership taking off a set of the factory Z07 sport cup 2's so I was lucky enough to grab them from him. Im getting them mounted as we speak and hopefully they will help on the track times

That's awesome. I bet people would lose it if you managed a 1.5 60' on stock tires.
With 650 miles on her I made it to Beech Bend in Bowling Green KY. Temps were in the mid to high 30's making traction an issue. Had to roll into the throttle to get a decent launch. Was hoping for more but I think the track was just too cold... For what ever reason the best passes were made in Sport mode.
The car is a 2LT A8 with the ZF1 package, NPP & 2.41 gears
Traction control on, rolling into the throttle
