Why? It does not bring any advantages to the corvette. The engine does not need it. If the weenies get their way someday and we get stuck with a small v6 that revs to the moon then maybe...the evolution of the chevy smallblock brings more low end torque with each iteration.
never an auto in a Z for a reason.. keep the autos for the geezers in their base models.. keep the numbers of the Z down for the REAL enthusiast like the last 2 gens of Z06. Learn to drive folks!

The ONLY folks who would want an automatic are those who never learned how to drive a manual You don't want people to have choices!! Everyone knows that the way that YOU want to do it MUST be the correct way. How utterly immaturely pretentious can you possibly be?

Well this old geezer was racing sticks when you were just a "poopy pants" sucking on a borrowed pacifer ! I for one have seen quite a few geezers blow the doors off a hot shot with their crappy "base" Vettes, myself included. What you need to do Dave02C5 is grow up and face the truth that technology can shift faster and more reliable than you can pal.

I can shift faster than your automatic.
hopefully they will keep them low production and keep drivers actually driving instead of steering wheel attendants.. let me guess, you'd want technology to take over actually driving the car for you too?

ditto that
In Europe i will say that the stick used to be 90/10 compared to US 10/90.
So we do know how to drive a stick....
i do track my toys, i also race Corvette in
GT2 class Norway, and i love the sequential tranny, but i would never use that on the street.
DCT kills any stick or auto on track with same driver, all other things being equal....
please please GM DCT or stick... no converter slush box

got to love young kids and their mindset, after all thats what makes the world go foreward ?
challenging the accepted is a good way to improve, but sometimes you need to adjust your mind and accept facts...
a DCT shift gear in 40-80 millisec, that is from the moment one gear stops moving car foreward to the next one is engaged and propelling car foreward it takes 40-80 ms
If you sir can do that every time up and down.... prop to you, but i doubt it

Good one. I doubt that you can shift faster than me let alone my A6. However if you want to make the argument that you prefer a stick because of more involvement or control while having fun driving your car , guess what? I agree with you. But when it comes to racing the beauty of these new tranny's is you get both faster and always accurate shifts. It is and continues to be a dumb argument.
