^........I wasn't referencing a boring HPDE event....... just going fast.
And yet this whole thread is about a turd taking part in an HPDE, in a very unsafe way. So ...
BTW! Thanks for proving my point.
... what was your point? Did it actually have anything to do with the thread at hand or were you just pontificating about something you don't actually know much about?
You're buying the first round.
Enjoy waiting for me to do that. You'll go thirsty.
What puzzles me is that how could a driver w/ only 2 previous lapping experience get into a red/advance group that allows passing??? And as to the so called instructor, there's one organization that would allow just about anyone to be an instructor. I know as I only tracked w/ them twice in the past, and I now keep getting emails to ask me to be an instructor (with discounts to track fees). And they have no idea what kind of experience I have in the past. So I don't track with them anymore.
I would NOT use this video as a reference for either the Z06 or the GT3 regarding their handling, speed, quickness, balance, braking or "tossibilty" as both of the drivers are most surely novices and heavily rely on ham-fistedness and nannies to save them
I imagine the Z06's rear pads were done after this one session due to the PTM/TC/AH activation on EVERY turn.
I have run with many GT3's and although on paper they have 175 hp LESS than the Z06 (and my ZR1) they are very, very quick .
It is challenging (for me at least) to keep up with a similar skilled driver in a 991 GT3.
oh, yeah, I own both a ZR1 and 991 GT3, so no fanboism here
Its a roval, and both cars have auto capability, doesnt take driver skill to go fast on a straight. From 80-150 both cars are flat footing the Z06 being in auto and the GT3 likely as well. Tires or traction control are not a factor. The Z just isnt making up the ground expected. The GT3's are fast for their relative HP! It is what it is.
Not to mention the Z06 was only 2 (148-146) mph faster on the front straight at Willow springs witb Randy Pobst driving each and thats likely due to a faster exit speed from the last turn. I bet their acceleration looks very similar were they to be plotted by GPS.

I've had no issues pulling 991 GT3's on the straights in my M7 Z06. They are indeed very quick but even with the same or slower exit speeds I can reel them in.

THIS WAS MY SECOND TIME EVER ON A TRACK AND FIRST TIME ON THIS TRACK WITH THE Z 06. I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO DRIVE THE BANK AS SOON AS I FIGURED IT OUT ON MY 3 RD TIME BACK..THESE GUYS WERE A HALF OF LAP BEHIND GETING SMOKED.. SO EAT A DICK !! NEW VIDEO COMING SOON..TEAM AMERICA"
This guy is dangerous on a track.. One has to wonder how he drives on the street.
I'm having a hard time believing that someone is really this ridiculous and this whole thing isn't a show just to get Internet clicks. What overlay is that in the video as it shows throttle but not brake and doesn't show what PTM mode the car is in or the squiggles when it intervenes?
For the folks applauding how well the nannies work on this car I said this once before but I'll say it again. I don't think that the AH is really doing much of anything here. That car on R7 should have tons of grip and while the guy is far from smooth on the wheel he also is pretty slow in the parts where he is turning.
Now without a doubt PTM has got to be helping him as he smashes the throttle but you should be able to hear the flutter if it's having to work hard.
