Why is the quarter mile performance so poor for the hp, but good 0-60? I think the Eray will beat that.
My .02
The World's Dumbest Gearing.
GM picked 1 set of gears for 2 cars with 2 different motors that max Rev 2k rpm apart. They tried to compensate for this with the rear end gearing but it hosed the Z51 imo
It takes 900+ rwhp to power through 4th and 5th leading to awful 1/4mi performance... but still gets us decent track performance. Whereas the Z06 on less HP is still Pulling in 4th.
10.64 is not slow as far as I am concerned. With that amount of horsepower I am quite sure it is a little quicker and faster than that. And again Callaway is doing this with a stock tire and probably without a prepped track. It would be nice to see the build information also.

Stingray gearing dictates that this is about right for trap speed. You'd need upwards of 750hp to reliably crack 130mph with the stupid gearing. As to stock tires, if we are to take the press material at face value and assume that the car pictured is the test car, the tires are certainly not stock. The thing has aftermarket flares covering huge tires, I'm guessing 355s in the rear.

Honestly, I think they just mixed the two option presentations together. The cars that they used for testing were basically standard Stingrays with the superchargers installed.

I would tend to agree with that, especially given that the car with the flares is in Europe. Do they even do Quartermile testing there?
it’s also interesting to note that the heat that we’ve been experiencing in the United States has been greater than usual. I would think that the testing conditions at the track will be less than ideal. I know Callaway used to use New England Dragway And not some hero track like Atco, etc. with super low DA
Really disappointed in their customer relations as of late .I wanted to know when I could expect a date for my install so I tried sending text and E-mail with no answer . I was told I was the very first on the list so was exited , but it looks like things have changed .How do I go about getting my deposit back ? thank you
@calway06 I had the same issue. I ended up leaving a message with accounting, and sending a reply to the newsletter that asked us what options we wanted. No reply to the email but accounting did email eventually. I also got a response by text asking if my address was still correct. If you were very early on the list like I was its going to take a little while. About 4 weeks from the cancel to check arriving.

I made my decision to go a different direction about a month ago. I sent them a text (to same number all of us were instructed to use to ask questions) and asked them to refund my deposit. They responded, by text, the same day and said they'd initiate the return of the deposit. Received a check 2-3 weeks later.

When I saw the announcement, I was very surprised. He will definately be missed.
Best wishes to his family. Bad health can definitely play a role in what I consider a bad product launch. I’ve seen it happen many times in this industry. Hopefully who ever is in control now can fill the role properly. The man was a legend.

Apparently Reeves passed away due to complications resulting from a fall. He was a terrific guy. This is a sad loss for his family, friends, co-workers and the automotive industry.
