Good luck to everyone who waited this out and hung in there. You guys are getting close now. I can't shake the nagging suspicion that both these cars and the Lingenfelter are going to get left in the proverbial dust by tuners that will have full access to the ECU through HPTuners. Make no mistake, I'm sure the Callaway kit will be robust and as reliable as any aftermarket conversion could be but I think they'll be plagued by the same odd behaviors of fuel cut and suffer poor performance as a result. The numbers tell the tale already as they are touting trap speeds below 130mph right off the top. A properly tuned C8 with turbos or a blower would rape one of these. Funny how a tuner becomes 'establishment' and then becomes a victim of its own success. GM clearly did not give Callaway full access to the ECU and they're going to suffer for it. The circle of life...
Based on my conversation they have ECU access so im pretty sure they will be fine .
If they had full access, I would think they could put up better numbers than the 10.64 @ 129 they are advertising. That is right in line with all the previous blower cars that were built before the ECU was unlocked. There are bolt-on cars running those times.

The Callaway supercharger is not a max effort build. It is done in conjunction with GM and is emissions legal. All of the other boosted offerings from various tuners are not emissions legal. They have been talking about that but nobody other than Callaway has actually done it. That is a big deal for some customers.

YEAH......but those bolt-on cars were using drag radials. It would be nice to see some time slips but we know that's not going to happen. Supercharger guys were using drag radials also. If Callaway is in fact using a manufacturer tires, i would say that's pretty darn good. Up to this point, I haven't seen any Supercharger guys pull that number with stock tires.

I'd hazard a guess that if they had access to the ECU, the thing would trap faster than 129mph given their 687hp claim. That is a classic under-performing, non-tuned C8 type number. I guess we'll see but it doesn't look good from this early data. We'll see what they do once owners get them but I'm pretty sure that 129mph was probably one of the better, if not THE best run.

Where's the unlocked ecu magic? Lingenfelter has had unlocked ECU for over a year via Trifecta... 700hp vs 687 and marginally better runs (1-2mph). Seems about right. I'd bet almost anything Callaway has full access to ECU.
Where they could get an edge is if they have access to the transmission shift points...
But they(callaway) are far too conservative to push the redline to 7000/7100, add a cam package or retool the fuel system to support more power & better shift points.
AND... Forgot to add this. Callaway almost certainly is going to have a single tune for all, just like LPE... which is where HPT has an edge, if a shop is willing to truly one off tune the car. Can make a difference. One size fits all tune is ideal for conservative, warranty, etc...
Anyone get any updates ? I'm in no rush so have not called since my vehicle arrived in CT .
Mine is still sitting in CA. Its been there for a month. Last that they told me, they were waiting for parts. I asked for an update last Friday but received no response.
I’m number 21 on the CT list but haven’t heard from them yet.
I put my deposit down on 8/28, same day I got the email saying there were excepting deposits from people on the wait list.
Not sure it’s even worth it given how close I’m getting on the MacMulkin #80 E-Ray and #1096 Z06 lists.
What would you guys do?
I'd be patient... I was #1 on their Camaro list for convertibles in 2011 when they debuted. Ordered the car in October. Due to GM QC delays, it was delivered to Old Lyme sometime in the cold months, took delivery a couple months later...

I'm honestly not sure what to tell you. My car was delivered by GM to Callaway CA almost 5 weeks ago. I can't get any information at all from them as to when my car might be worked on. If it's going to be a while yet, tell me that...give me a guestimate...I get nothing. I am a very patient person, but they are really testing that with their near zero communication.
