Besides this issue the car has been just pure joy... perfect in every way....
I will keep updates as GM is contacted and I get information about this issue!!!
I don't have a C8 but in my C6 after 65k miles, I got a check engine light come on and from that point on the car would not shift out of 3rd gear. It was an automatic.
I got home turned the car off and on again and took it out and the same thing...it would not shift out of 3rd gear. Car sat at home for 3 days without me using it and the check engine light did not turn on after starting it and it shifted into all gears. Drove it to the dealership and they said a transmission sensor went bad and needed replacing. After replacing the sensor, no problems. The transmission pan needed to be removed to replace the sensor and sensor was an in stock item!
Hopefully just a computer glitch or chaffed wire. In mid 2000's (like through 2012) the Ferrari Getrag DCT's had issues with sensors causing similar issues inside of the gearbox requiring the DCT to be removed to replace them. Maybe through some genius engineering, Tremec made THOSE types of sensors accessible while the gearbox is in the car?
Good luck. hope for a positive outcome and the explanation. obviously for many, the most concerning change was going to a first ever DCT (i know it is for me).
Agree, it does sound a bit like the situation faced by some early PDK adopters as well.

thanks for the info.... in checking my email later... I got an email from GM... Onstar picked up with the issue and sent me an email requesting me to bring the car to attend an “engine/transmission” problem!!!! Amazing how technology works know a days...

Did you get a check engine light come on?
yes since the gear we’re jumping from 2 to 4 and so on the engine I think idled too much and I got the check engine light.... once I restarted the car the engine light was gone!!!!!
After washing the C8,i noticed these small dots in the paint. Will be sending to paint correction and ceramic coat on Friday and will have them buffed out. Can’t feel them it’s in the paint or clear? Found them all on the back hatch area....both sides.

that will help a lot.. I did paint correction and ceramic coating in mine Next day I bought it... the paint was in areas similar to yours... torch red right????
I contacted a guy I met at Carlisle a few years ago and was instrumental in helping get my 16 Z06 straightened out (on the Corvette Team) and he acknowledged that the screw in the door issue has been handled already at the plant. So obviously will not be an ongoing issue.
I noticed that if you push lightly on the front hood there is a "clicking rattle". It's fully latched and locked - my guess is that there is a bumper pad to adjust to keep it from moving too much. Not a big deal - overall I am amazed with this car - the technology, the ride, the power - everything so far.
One of our initial cars(#18XX) developed a trans issue on the drive to fill it with fuel(we don't have premium fuel onsite). Just normal driving at around 50-55mph, it started skipping the odd gears. It would start in 2nd gear from a stop and would lag badly when shifting and then would skip the odd gears. We contacted a Corvette Engineer and he had our tech go through and disconnect all connectors to the trans and look for a crimped or damaged wire. None were found so he hooked everything back up, connected the battery back up and took the car on 20 mile R&D drive to log the trans information on his laptop. Customer was aware of this and was totally fine with it. Car has not had another issue and is working as it should now.
Our best guess is that something just wasn't making the right connection. The engineer told us that we were the first car to have this issue. The only other issues reported to them by other dealers so far was some trans fluid leaking and some units being slightly low on trans fluid.

Thanks.... my car is the service department now. By now in this forum there are 3 reports with same issue...
The wrinkles in the seat base are totally normal and will go away. The seats are shipped leaned forward and the side bolsters push in to the seat base. Drive the car and it will disappear.

I saw the same tiny white dots in a few places including the same rear hatch. I able to quickly remove them using 3M Polishing Compound (#05996) by hand with a microfiber cloth. I’m sure there are other polishing brands that will work but this compound is extremely mild as it is designed to remove swirl marks from more aggressive buffing compounds.
