Brand new with 3 miles on it…. How the heck did this occur? Dealer will replace but can’t imagine how this happened on both sides. Photo is of the window trip piece.
Are the windows tinted? Looks like the kind of damage that a crappy window tinter would make.
Either that or someone drove over the trim pieces with a forklift at BGA picked them up and said "Hrmm? Yeah, they're good!"
Btw, I had my windows tinted within a week or two of getting my C8 new from BGA.
I ended up with scratches somewhat like these and I assumed it was done by the window tinting company so I didn't bother to complain to GM about it. In my case though, I don't have the big dings. I only have parallel scratches that run perpendicular to the door. I highlighted the scratches I have in your pic. Will take a pic of mine because now I am thinking that I am not the only one out there with this issue (just like the MILKY HEADLIGHT STREAKS problem that GM tried to blame people with PPF for and I don't have PPF).

Yes the Dealer had the windows tinted and the car was in the showroom. I did not notice it until I got home and parked in the drive when it was sunny out. Exact same damage as yours. I also have scratches on the A-pillar driver side. Salesman said it was just glue residue but it’s not. It’s definitely scratches.
I don’t understand why any Dealership would not take care of this immediately and before they even try to sell a vehicle.

WTF… looks like someone tried to car jack you using an oversized slim jim… sorry to hear it man
😳
2024 C8 is 3 days old. Would not start today. Everything lights up but nothing when I push the start button. Diagnostic says error with the Antilock Braking System. Car is stuck in the garage and not sure how to get it into N to roll it out. Does anyone know how to get the front trunk open manually? Want to check the battery but can not get to it because noting releases the front trunk hatch.

It's page 18 (Hood) but my manual is for 2023 and likely different for 2024. There is a cable (red circle) to pull to open your hood (front trunk). Consult your driver guide for how to remove the plastic cover to get to the battery.
Try starting the car remotely - on your key fob press the LOCK button once, then the 'X2' button TWICE - the car should start. Once it starts, you have to press the internal dashboard button to get it in the mode to shift gears.
FYI - you cannot get the car into neutral without starting the engine - I found out 6 HOURS after buying my 23 C8 in June 2022.
So I feel your pain.
I am afraid to even open it because I may not be able to get it closed. Dealer is sending a tow truck on Monday to pick up the car. Dealer has been very responsive.
"Diagnostics: Engine and Transmission System Schedule service soon"
That is the message I got after driving 6 hours/200 miles after buying it in June 2022 (2023 C8 HTC).
They flushed the next day. I drove 50 miles and error came back; drove another ~350 miles to get home.
Next day I brought it to local dealer to flush (6 times vs. the normal 3 times).
All this within 72 hours of buying the car.
While I realize some folks going to point out a 'small' percentage of cars are going to have problems, it still is frustrating when it happens to you.
LIkely they will flush your transmission out - multiple times.
ABS error - after 3 days, sounds like several subsystems were missed on QA inspection.
Today after 2,600 miles and only a few weeks of ownership my new 2024 HTC’s top stopped responding while I was trying to open it leaving a restaurant. On star wasn’t able to suggest anything and I had to limp it to my in laws nearby. The windows are stuck down and the top just doesn’t respond to the key or the button in the car. Not sure if there’s a way to manually close that cover so I could at least drive home.
OnStar called for a tow service and I told OnStar that the car was in the garage and would not start so the Tow Service would need dollies to get it out and up on the flatbed. They never mentioned that to the company that they called. Lucky the tow company called me and I explained what the situation was. They did not have dollies and said that OnStare never told them. OnStar call a different tow company that would not arrive until after dark. I said no way. Called the Dealer and told them to arrange to pick it up on Monday.
I mentioned this a while back, but I think it would make sense to create a poll of sorts to really get a hand on what the forum based malfunction rates really are. It should be categorized like serious: the car will not start or can’t be driven, and another like: top wont close or can’t open frunk, or whatever.. I too am close to picking mine up and to say I have cold feet is an understatement.
If anyone is willing to work on this, please PM me. I’m not familiar with everything that the forum offers for something like this.
i gotta stop reading this thread im taking delivery of mine soon lol
Rumor has it if you read EVERY post in this thread, you are protected from Murphy for every problem that might arrise. If you didn't read a post about lift reservoir leaks, headlight streaks, missing stripes, leaking AC drains, broken valve springs, or god forbid DCT solenoid / "idle creep disabled" events then that is ON YOU!

we feel your pain man and sorry to hear it… if you go back on this thread i believe youll find a spread sheet that was created listing all of the problems but i dont believe it was ever amended to show how many complaints for each problem category were logged on this forum… stay the course and please keep us posted
I would like to know if anyone had the same issue as mine and how it was resolved. Still waiting on the Dealer to come get the car. I am hoping it is as simple as a software update. When I went to start the car and put my foot on the brake and pushed start the brake started pulsating up and down. The car will not start.

just put on a pot of coffee my car is at the dealer I got a lot of reading lol
I've had streaking in my headlamps for awhile. No one has noticed it but me and I was reluctant to have them replaced since I don't have the paint chip issue and didn't want to inherit it. Unfortunately I'm starting to see condensation now so I guess I'm going to be forced to have them replaced.....ugh
I am at the dealer getting pictures taken of my headlight streaks to get approval from GM for warranty replacement. While on my way to the dealer my cameras all failed.
I got a Infotainment screen alert immediately after starting the car. All front and rear driving assistance cameras failed, but the TV mirror was still active. i believe the TV mirror uses a direct connection from the camera to the mirror. The other cameras appear to be connected for post processing.
The dealer said they think the camera issue is corrected by a software update which they are doing now. I don't think I've seen this posted before, am I the first?
