If I were the OP I would send an email to Mary Barra as others have done in similar situations with very good results.
Yes! I completely missed that!

You are right...that is exactly what the dealer is doing - the part has been sitting in the sales manager's office and will go into the car the moment he says "I give up." ADM, here we come!

If this happened to me, I would have gone to GM parts direct online and attempted to purchase an injector.

If I had received that injector, I would then have walked into the dealer to talk with manager again. If he fed me his line of BS again about parts not being available, I would have pulled the injector out and slapped it on the table and then talked about options for not being sued. Hopefully in a one-party consent state for video recording.

Do they need to be flow-matched where they have to replace all eight at once?
I could be mistaken but I believe you can replace just one. I like what dohabandit wrote above. See if you can buy one. If you can, do as he has sugested.

Some have chimed in and said that their paint looked good.

Not talking specifically about any individual’s paint, or their ability to the evaluate the condition thereof-two different people could look at the same paint job and one may think it looks great while the other, perhaps with a more discerning eye, could find swirl marks/scratches at the right angle in the right light. Eye of the beholder.

Obviously it’s also going to vary greatly depending on what color you’re judging, black showing faults far more than light colors.

Moreover, the biggest culprit is often the dealership. D.I.S. Dealer installed swirls/scratches. Have you seen the terrible methods dealerships employ to destroy a brand new car’s paint? Often just spraying them down and wiping them with the same filthy rag, car after car.

I’m a bit of a detail nut, I felt as though my brand new (black) Q50 needed a full paint correction, which I did myself. Nearly everyone that I showed thought I was crazy and couldn’t believe that I would spend an entire weekend correcting a brand new car’s paint that they thought looked great.

I’m one who said my paint is terrific. I’ve inspected it closely under detailing lights, and I’m thoroughly satisfied.

I’m also one whose dealer absolutely honored my instructions that they were not to touch the paint at all during pdi.

i suspect this is no coincidence.

That’s great to hear. My car sat for a while on the lot and I’m sure it was washed several times before I bought it. I talked to my salesman, that I met through an Infiniti forum and specifically asked that they not wash again before I flew from San Diego to Redlands to pick it up. It would just get filthy on the long drive back anyway.

Of course, it was throughly “detailed” before I got there. Now, I always make sure to tell my local dealer not to do the free wash when I bring it in for service.

Since then, I’ve vowed to do the same as you when buying my next car.

It was funny, my dealership actually did nothing until I saw it, they didn’t even want to remove the shipping plastic inside or remove the window stickers until I told them it was okay, I told them “inside is fine, just don’t touch anything outside that is painted or plastic.”

You would. Be walking in empty handed. There are no fuel injectors available.

Better get yourself some grille guards to protect the fins of all those coolers in front end of Corvette before they all get bent up and will need replacement in no time.

My Car just got built today and Scrape Armor told me they expect the grills guards to ship next week... Really hope they come at the same time!

That's real smart thinking and planning. You will save yourself from having to replace those bent up fins.

Since I don't' think I have seen anyone else post it yet here, there are multiple owners with windshield distortion defects being reported in these other threads. My car suffers from this unfortunately, you can see a video I posted in there in the second link, its pretty bad:

I just watched your video... that's a bad wave! I would be upset if that was on my car... Are you going to have it resolved under warranty?

Lazy dealers may try to say the position of that wave is on the side and "doesn't interfere with the drives view". I have anxiety that would happen to me and I'd have to fight to get it replaced.

My '22 Stingray has been at dealer for over week now due to an engine misfire , cylinder 6 - they say it is the fuel injector but do not have an ETA (backordered) , do you have any more inside info? or Am I in for a long wait ...

NY has a 30 day threshold for Lemon Law , I'm already at day 8 , would rather not have to start over with another car but if the biggest car company on the planet can't get me a new fuel injector not sure I'm good with the car in the long haul...

Before my brand new C8 left the dealership, they detected a transmission sensor failure and has been told by GM to replace all of the sensors. Requires disassembling, replacing the sensors, and reassembling the trans,. If this doesn't work I may be waiting for a new tranny too!

And the problems continue onto the 3rd production year. This is not the mid-engine corvette we have been waiting decades for. GM step up!

This doesn't sound right...my understanding is that GM's policy is that these transmissions are non-serviceable units and that dealers are not allowed to disassemble them.

I've been asking them to do the same for 13 years. As I tell people, as long as customers keep buying, there is little incentive for GM to improve quality/reliability.
