My 22 HTC has been at the dealer for going on 6 weeks this Friday with a “Top not secure” error message. The dealership has been in communication with GM and specialists have been there to assist. The have performed adjustments, sensor checks, electric motor replacement, carriage assembly replacement (the first arrived freight damaged), videos sent to big wigs in GM for analysis, and it is still not fixed it. The dealer says GM is planning to do something to ease my pain for the inconvenience, but this is ridiculous. I’ve only had the car 14 weeks and 6 have been in the shop. I managed to get 800 miles on it before I had to take it to dealer. Very saddened to see other C8’s on the road when I’m not in mine to smile and wave!🤪
Wow that sucks! Good luck getting the car fixed properly and hope it’s your only issue. Sounds like you’re being as patient as you can be. Here’s to getting your C8 back for top down weather!
Thinking out loud... I wonder if there's an aftermarket supply for an injector? That might be a viable alternative.
I've thought of that too , and starting trying to google around - if this is the part (fuel injector) that is required its available everywhere I check:
My sales guy/dealership is being useless as expected and wanting to "hold tight" to see if GM sends the part ... we'll see
Did you try calling GM and opening a case? Im going to call tomorrow and see if they may be able to help expedite. In my experience with other manufacturers they don't like open corporate cases and its usually able to light a fire...
If it were me, I would attempt to make some arrangement with the dealer where you get refunded if you don't have a replacement part after a certain period of time. Kind of feel like once you get past a certain point there's nothing that can be done except wait. Good luck, man.
Update: I emailed Mary Barra's email and called back, got in touch with someone from the 'executive response team'. They're now saying they've expedited the part and gave me a date. At least there's light at the end of the tunnel now. Let's see.
At the end of the day I just want be back in the car again, that's the easiest and less work option for me at the moment.
I'm sure other folks have reported the C8 recalls but I just wanted to note that I never received formal notice from Chevy or the DMV. None of them showed in My Chevrolet/GM Owner portal or anywhere else either. Got it all taken care of during my most recent service visit but was surprised I got no notifications for them.
Here were the recalls performed:
#A202321990-01: Service Update - Air Fuel Enrichment - (Aug 25, 2021)
#N212336960: Service Update Bulletin - TCM Loss of Communication with No MIL - (Oct 27, 2021)
#N212330480: Service Update - Front Lift System Reservoir Cap Leak - (May 20, 2021)
#N212327740: Service Update - HVAC Condensate Drain Hose Not Fully Installed - (Mar 10, 2021)
None of those listed are Recalls; they're Service Updates (which don't compromise safety). You'll usually get a notice for a Recall, but not one for a service update or TSB which you have to look up yourself.

Thanks for the info! The service manager at my dealerships service center referred to them as recalls, so I didn't give it much more thought than that. I'll make a point to look up service updates periodically going forward.
I have the same problem on my C8 just picked up 2 weeks ago. Color is black so stands out more I’m sure on darker cars. Easiest to see when headlights are on at night. Clearly something is protruding from under the bumper cover. Clearly a defect. Showed dealership and they said can’t do any about it. It’s ridiculous. GM should do something about this
Picked up my new coupe on 3/18 in Missouri, drove it 700 miles home to Texas. Had to flat bed it to dealer on Monday due to a presumed fuel leak somewhere. Smelled gas inside a little and in engine compartment a lot. Still waiting to hear what is leaking. 😡

Sorry, I cannot follow this thread backwards. What is "the same problem" that is referred to in this post. Thank you very much!

ouch!
sorry to hear it
keep us posted on the outcome
GM sent new trans which dealer is finishing up installation.
Good news. So as I said, GM won't allow servicing of this unit by dealers, which is why a defective unit would be replaced in its entirety. Did you ever find out why this dealer told you that GM had supposedly told them to take the apart when their policy forbids this?
Also, what symptoms was it you were experiencing in the transmission initially? I don't recall you going into much detail there, but maybe I'm mistaken.
About the DCT leaking problem, I don't work on the car myself and if garage floor is dry that doesn't mean it's not leaking right? So do I take it in to let them check if it's leaking every 2k, 3k miles or so? And symptoms of leaking DCT? (I mean mechanically, but by then it's too late as damages already done?)

Just ask them to check the level during oil change. Easy to do...
