I'll tell you; I see so many BS answers from salesmen. Get them to turn on your OnStar and you can track it yourself. Only the dealer can turn it on before you take delivery, but they can. I learned this trick from a couple of west coast guys.
My car was built on Thursday, signed paperwork electronically yesterday and had the OnStar turned on. Looks like my car is sitting peacefully on the lot. I set the app to notify me when it leaves this location. Hopefully it won’t be to much longer. Then it goes straight to PPF and ceramic.

I had read somewhere some time back that GM had sent a bulletin out to the dealers telling them to NOT do that anymore. I think it was shortly after that "Chevy Dude" posted that video of him standing at the fence operating the panic button making the horns blow. Could definitely be wrong about that and the dealers keep doing it anyway. I've waited this long, it's nice to know that its built.

After activation, I received several emails saying that I disabled various features. I didn't do anything and assumed is was to prevent me from blowing the horn, trying to remote start it etc. I'm guessing when I take delivery everything will be functional.

Cool. I'm going to just wait it out. With my luck, something would happen and I would be screwed again
do you know if its true or not i can have the car delivered to my local Chevy dealership from the factory for an additional $500 fee even though I'm buying through Ciocca?
Yeah, I was all set to have mine delivered to Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, FL when my Ciocca sales rep said that they didn't to that anymore. Not sure if the change came when they purchased the Kerbeck dealership but I do know that Ciocca honored the Courtesy Delivery for some people, I just wasn't one of them.
Very disappointed with that since it added unplanned costs, plus if I used a Transport Company, they would just drop the car off and I would forfeit the whole dealer delivery education / experience. But the alternative, I guess, is to pay above MSRP and to wait longer.
I reached out to Shane today inquiring about an update to my order . I didn't really expect anything back today since it's a Saturday but within five minutes I had an response and he give me a 02/07 TPW. I've been sitting on 3000 since November 8th and was hoping to see some movement and boy was glad to hear the good news!!!!
Deposit down March 11, 2021 - Ordered July 9, 2021. Dealer: Jeff Schmitt. Still waiting for allocation. Was supposed to be this week but with the tornado and other events, I'm probably off a week or two.

If you are having it shipped to Stingray Chevrolet #6 on the Top 100 Corvette Sales List, why did you not purchase from them? Probably because they quote 12-18 month wait time and it appears it is actually that long. So I guess you will end up paying more, but got it quicker.

I'd say the price increase you'll incur after the switch from MY2022 to MY2023 will likely be more than the cost to have the car shipped to where you want.

My sales had texted me only yesterday that GM would be sending me an email directly requesting the correct spelling that will go on the name plate. I actually received an email from Shane today Sat 1/15, which surprised me too. I returned the info he needed and replied back in 15 minutes or less. He gave me a TPW of 2/14, and I have been at 3000 since early December.
I am in the Long Island NY area so no rush from a weather stand-point. It is actually a surprise gift for my wife, who hasn't a glue she is getting this car. The Dealership Sales Mgr. who knows us since 1990 where I purchased my first of many vehicles from them. I also order a 2022 Tahoe RST so she will think she is going with me to pick it up. Little does she know when she sees it out front. I of cause will not let on but will make a be interest in it, even though it will have a sold sigh on the windshield. The salesman seeing my interest will of course be happy to let us see it. He will cold start it, make her get in it to see just how amazing it is. Then he will also point out the name plate with the Owners Name on it. looking forward to seeing her face after she see's its hers.
Now gents, that is how you remain a Hero & not a Zero. We are married 37 years, and have 7 children (Together)! I am also thrilled she will still fit in it as the woman has gain 3 lbs since our wedding day (112 lbs soaking wet). She looks better than the C8, she looks like Trumps Wife! Yes, I am bragging about her. What's even better she is the nicest person I know, and most deserving at that!
My biggest concern is her very HEAVY right foot. Glad she is a great driver, but I will still take her to Ron Follows in the summer of this year! Z51,

I'm from Vandalia and talked to Jeff Schmitt also back in July. They promised they could get me a C8 in 4-5 months and wanted a deposit. I just had an uneasy feeling about them and ended up at McCluskey in Cincinnati. I got a October allocation and was thankful I didn't fall for Jeff Schmitt's lies.

No…He allegedly bought from Ciocca #1 selling dealership and is having it shipped to Stingray Chevrolet the #6 selling Dealership. I am on Stingray Chevrolet amongst others Waiting List and I was pointing out the fact that he got his C8 quicker but has to pay more with the transportation cost he was speaking about. Stingray Chevrolet wait time is longer and to their defense they told me it would be 12-18 months. I would have gone with one of the Big 3 last Summer when I started my quest but I was new to the process and did not know about Courtesy Delivery so I wanted a Dealership close to me. If C8 Stingray Allocations stay at a decent rate given the Z06 and other impacts, I should have an Allocation by late Spring or early Summer if not sooner because of my diversified Deposits with 5 Dealerships of various sizes.

I got on the Stingray waiting list on 12/30/20 at #401. My car will be built this Tuesday. Not sure how long the QC and transportation portion will take, but by the time it's all said and done it should be right at 13 months.

At the time I Didn’t know that they were a MSRP dealership. FYI I have a deposit for an e-Ray with Stingray.

Congrats! However I constantly hear people saying it ONLY took me X amount of time to get their C8 which is usually way under 12 months. They fail to realize that was back then. The popularity of the C8 has grown tremendously recently and therefore the Waitlist has also grown. The Wait time is ridiculous now. You said when you made your Deposit you were #401. Guess what, if you add a Deposit now you would be almost double the amount placement with a #762. Things have changed.

Hey, I completely agree with you, the demand has increased incredibly! In a roundabout sort of way, that was what I was getting at. I was #401 and waited a solid year. The previous poster mentioned that he thought he might get a car in the spring or early summer. I thought a point of reference might be useful as I know there are now 750+ on their current list. Almost twice the number from when I started a year ago! It may be time for a third shift! (Alert the suppliers) Note: I moved up the list in big chunks at a time fashion, mostly due to ppl dropping out, getting a refund or just loosing interest, so who knows....)

Right, so if they had bought from Stingray and the wait was longer... lets say similar to you with a late Spring allocation... that will mean you're getting a 2023... the price increase of which will be higher than a transport fee. In other words, getting it several months quicker will likely end up cheaper, even with the transport fee, not more expensive.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
