I purchased a Soler Throttle Control for my new C8. For those that have installed one, did you wait for break-in mileage to end first?
At what mileage did you install it?
Is there a reading comprehension problem in America or just here on the forum? Where in this thread has anyone who has a Soler throttle controller claimed it increases performance or made any other claim other than it increases driving pleasure?.
I have a Borla exhaust installed on my C8 that cost me about $4700 installed (rather than the less than $200 for this product). Did I buy the exhaust to give me more horsepower or a better quarter mile time? NO! I bought it to correct a perceived deficiency in the OEM performance exhaust and give me more driving pleasure by making my C8 more like the sports car I wanted.
For the naysayers - try it before you knock it, or at least stop reading false claims into the positive reviews.

Wife had the dealer put in a Pedal Commendar in her 23' HTC at 26 miles when she had her summer tires changed to all seasons, but that's my wife, I turned it off to she hit 500, she didn't know

It does not really matter, although you will be driving rather easy for the first few hundred miles, right? So, I would install this after the initial break-in. BTW, you will have to remove the accelerator pedal to gain access to the harness connector. And be very careful - remove the red connector lock tab first, then squeeze the second locking tab towards the connector body and pull away from the pedal. Its easy to break the tabs, so be careful.
I just installed mine last week. Wait until you see how hard it is working under the dash to reach the accelerator pedal! If you're worried, just install it now and program it to 'O.E.M. Setting' until you get your break in miles on the clock.

I have installed these controllers in well over 100 cars over the years and I found the C8 was pretty easy (as long as you are not a real big person). Not every car connection is at the gas pedal cars like a Porsche 996 have it under the dash and you have to remove the vent system to get to it certain land rovers have the connection under the dash as well. They tell you to keep the key away from the car for at least 15 minutes before you install (at least pedal commander and sprint booster does) it though I have only had warning lights come on with two cars after the install. If you have never done one of these you might want to take it somewhere or look at how the two connectors on the controller come apart to get an idea of how you need to remove the connector in the car. You get a feeling for how these come apart after dong enough of them the C8 took me 5 minutes to do I used pedal commander so I could hide the whole thing and use the app to control it.
Be careful following the video posted as that is 2 years old and other than the apparent changes made to the controller face, the instructions I received today are a bit different from the video instructions...
You also use an app now on the phone to setup the controller...In the video he mentions having to calibrate the pedal distance by pressing fully down and back up again...I see no mention of this step in the instructions I received today unless the app guides you through the process after pairing is accomplished..
Can anyone that recently installed the controller comment on if a pedal recalibration is required? Also, after everything is connected it states to bring the key fob back inside the cabin and "start the engine"...In the video he just pushes once without stepping on the brake to start in accessory mode and does not start up the engine and then proceeds into calibrating the accelerator pedal distance...

I installed a few months ago. No pedal calibration required. Follow the instructions that come with the unit and installation is a breeze
Thanks. That is helpful. Knowing where the parts are and how they look is most useful. Will be my next mod.. I gotta test to see if I can get my aging bod in place though!
No calibration is necessary. That's old information that went with the old display module. When the new display came out with Bluetooth it's just a straight forward plug and play. The only critical thing to note is to make sure you wait 10+ minutes for all systems to shut down and keep the fob at a distance. Just a reminder to be careful not to bump the power seat adjuster by accident as I did when installing. I think that will start the 10 minute timer all over again and if the connections aren't made yet you might throw a CEL.

And when they say to start the engine once setup is complete and fob is back in vehicle you actually start the engine and not just turn on accessories? The old instructions just said press ignition switch without starting the engine...
OK, I'll bite - What the heck is this thing and what is is used for?
I didnt know either until recently but its to give you more control over how your throttle responds. Do you want an even, steady ramp up in acceleration? do you want it to respond more aggressively, or do you want to really have to step on it to make it go? From what I gathered from another thread and watching a video thats all it is- fine tuning the throttle to your liking/desired response
