I just took the car on my usual test loop, including filling the gas tank about halfway through to experience both empty & full weights. No abnormal noises on rough roads/aprons/transitions, feels tighter but not too tight, cuts better and rotates nicer! Very happy with the upgrade. The "soft" setting seems ideal with stock tires and front swaybar.

To elaborate a bit on the job: The install was much easier than the C7's rear swaybar and didn't require any type of mechanical ability or experience. Eibach included one tube of grease which I used in entirety, but was the perfect amount. I lubed the interior of the bushings including gooping extra into the bushing channels; I also applied a thin layer on the exterior of the bushings. I used anti-sieze on the 2 end-link nuts and 4 bracket bolts.

I wish there was more testing done.

I want to do AFE’s rear sway bar only, on the lowest setting just to curb a little bit of the “front end push” feeling, but I worry it’ll reduce the balance the car has from the factory.

My worry with aFe's rear bar is that it'll be too stiff when retaining the factory front bar since it's 2x stiffer than the Z51 rear bar and nearly 3x stiffer than the base rear bar even on the softest setting. I went with the Eibach rear bar for this reason with it's stiffest setting still softer than aFe's softest. I started on Eibach's softest setting to compare things in incremental steps. I'm a huge fan of aFe products, but in this situation I decided to stick with the suspension experts headquartered right down the street from aFe (Eibach's bars/bushings/mounts are also made in USA).

Default Bar

How is the rear bar going to help with under steer?

A stiffer rear bar will reduce under steer. Go too stiff in the rear and you get oversteer.

never seen that work. whenever there is an issue with under or over steer, ya usually work on that end of the car first.

It's physics and one of the first suspension tuning tools used, especially with autocross guys. Tire pressures and rear swaybar stiffness are typically my first two adjustments to get a car setup and balanced to my liking.

autocross, Im a road racer and its, "work on the end that is giving you problems". I have seen on some occasions c5/6 platforms removing the rear sway bar for better rear grip. guess times will tell if the c8 platform benefits from a rear bar only change.

I found my C7 Z51 happiest with the stock bars, but I'll already tell you the C8 Z51 benefits from this rear bar. As I mentioned earlier, I think Corvette engineers went a bit conservative on the C8 with it being their first attempt at a mid-engine. It's possible in time we find out if the Z06 bars are setup more aggressively and if they'll make for a good upgrade to the base/Z51 Stingray models (Z06 bars were not an upgrade on the C7 base/Z51 Stingray).

Actually a very simple install that required no creative statements! I am really enjoying the newfound feel and balance of the car. Easy DIY job using basic hand tools and ramps.

For a Z51, how does the stiffer bar work with added wheel camber? Also, is the Mag Ride impacted by the stiffer bar?

Thanks, Bill

Negligible impact to MSRC performance or function. You will not notice any degradation in ride quality with an appropriately sized swaybar.

A stiffer swaybar can potentially offset the need for additional negative camber as the car corners flatter.

Which factory spec? The “standard” spec or the track spec? I’ve got my car set to a slight variation of the track spec. Also have mine lowered and on 18”/19” wheel diameters. Looking to tweak a little more with bars for autox and track days.
