Gun World Range
Beginning today, June 1st 2013, we are accepting names for the Illinois CCW qualification class(es).
Based on what we know so far, the requirements include 16 hours of training and a range qualification.
We are estimating the class fee around $295. Once we have the complete requirement itinerary as approved by the Illinois State Police, we will structure our class schedule and begin taking deposits.
To get on the list to be personally contacted for your seat in class, simply call us or sent an email to: Article.ii@gunworldrange.com
Be sure to include your name, phone number, and email address.

I guess I'll forgive Jimmy for not thinking to sign me up as letting me run 12 rounds through his S&W got me re-involved in this hobby...

LOL, about me getting you re-involved in this great hobby!

BUT, how long until we actually have our cards, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year?
Obviously, the sooner you sign up for the IL CCW class the sooner you will get it!
Not time to crack the Champagne open yet, but soon I will have it waiting on ice.

I've been checking out info on veto powers for IL. Not finding much that I comprendo.

is that Quinn, defintely, CANNOT Veto, b/c of the vast majority of votes that it passed by in both House and Senate!

You better start hitting the range and practice, b/c under the new bill you are not allowed to miss 70% or more of your shots, from 5, 7 and 10 yards away.
All in good fun (you know that) my friend.

"Please help our cause!
A downstate Democrat has posted an online petition for people to sign in support of making concealed carry legal in Illinois."
There is always more to do, but Bob persevered with facts and timely information bringing us to this point.
Relentlessly, and with true America spirit, Bob accomplished the mission.
Thank you, Bob.

:fla g:

Cause most of my range work is at 50, 100 & 200 yards!
Thanks for the kind words Peter but I am simply the messenger, this has been a real team effort.
As always, thanks to the mods for letting this train continue to roll!
-=Rick

There you go again, Bob, as I suspected you would.

Nothing good happens without true leadership.
We all agree that teamwork brought us to this point.
Bob, you just demonstrated again that you are a leader -- and have been the leader in this arena.

Spoke to them today after shooting. They're saying it can be 6 months before everything is ready to go with CCW classes.
They also close tomorrow for a complete make over of the pistol range

The pistol range is closed two weeks.
Bought decent 9mm for 17.99 a box.

I was at Gats today from 1:30 until 3:30 pm, on the second floor most the time, looking at optics and shoulder holster for my 1911 .45 pistols, for when I am out in the fall and winter with a jacket (for carry conceal)..

What time were you there, I though you might be there today, as it would not be the first time I ran into you there or Quicksilver Bob before.

I was told by a Manager they are hoping that there first class will start in July and they are thinking of renting a banquet hall to get large numbers of people through the class.
I bought 400 rounds of the cheap steel case Tulano 9 mm ammo for $14.99. For shooting paper with some of my more rugged inexpensive gunes, I don't mind running cheap ammo through them every now and then. I also picked up 200 rds of 10mm ammo for my compact Glock 29, which is an awesome carry/conceal hand cannon.
What 9 mm ammo was that decent price of $17.99? That was not there when I was shoping for ammo between 1:30 and 3:30 pm. Glad they are modernizing their pistol range as Pfrank and I were just talking how they needed to do that.

The guys I talked to were behind the rifle range counter. Hopefully they're wrong with the timeline they offered me. With a lot of this CCW defaulting to State Police who can't process a FOID in the timeframe they're supposed to....who knows.
The new pistol range should be pretty good if it turns out like the rifle range. I'm going there next couple of weeks to shoot rifle until the pistol range opens back up.
