I'm glad you stepped up this year to run one of these events.
Thanks.
No problem, but I think we lucked out last year getting the whole track to our selves the day before a big event.
I'll call Jason at MIR and get the scoop.

Update: The plan is in motion. I'm hoping the car will be ready to take some passes in about 8-10 weeks. Alot to do and test. Hope everything actually works.
Good to hear, just curious if anyone has ever gone 8's on a 255DR?
Forget that junk, those useless things just add unnecessary weight to the car LOL, hell if it were me I'd even pull out the damn 6 point to save even more weight as well.

I don't think so, I believe a couple people might've gone high 8s on 16" (or even 17"?) drag radials but I don't think any used tires that narrow (255).
Don't quote me but as far as I know only Robz, Mike Rumain and Sonnie ('uniqueC5') have even gone 9.3s on a 255 with Sonnie as the only one to go 9.2s on them.
Going to 15s is likely going to be a better move at that level but with the right track prep and suspension I'm betting that it (ie: 8s on a 255-50-16 tire) can be done.

Jay, thanks again for organizing MIR-2. Friday sounds great.
good luck Rob, im sure you'll be able to accomplish this goal as you have all your others... certainly looking forward to reading about it...

My goals will be:
-run an 8.9x
-trap 150mph
-cut a 1.2x 60'
all with under 400ci's (n/a) and a 6 speed on a small drag radial... and drive home.
I basically need to find about .2-.25 from my current setup.
According to my math it is possible but everything must come together. I have several things I'm working on between now and September when I'll start making "all out" passes.
My general setup will not change.
If $ becomes an issue I will abort the mission and have fun running a local 10.50 index.
That's my story.

Thanks John. I set the goals high this time. Lowering et .25 may require 80-100rwhp.
I'll be happy if I get close. I think the 150mph will be the most attainable yet least important to me.
I'm looking for someone to do some custom carbon fiber work preferrably local if anyone has a contact.

Got some initial dyno numbers. Car made 633/506 on the mustang dyno we use with 4.10 gears. It looks like I gained about 20-25 rwhp from previous. I'm happy with the hp curve as it stays above 605 rwhp @ 9000rpms.
We plan on dyno'ing next with a custom air intake system we fabricated which should pick up a little more on the dyno and alot more on the strip. I think I need to find another 50rwhp which is possible but hard to capture.
I'm also confident that the ability to shift higher where I need to be will net about .1.

You and Fartpipe need to be brought under control ! This is getting crazy

Do you have a date selected for the initial shake down runs? It sounds like all things are still on a positive note and the goal is definitely in sight.

I'm gonna try creeping up on it so I'll probably try and take some hard passes in about 3-4 weeks and lift so I don't **** off the track. Need to figure out the clutch and suspension, I feel like I'm starting over.
But i also don't have alot of passes to beat up on the car so I won't buzz it until the air is just right.
8500 all day. 9000+ when/if it's all dialed in and the weather cooperates.

We have it idling @850 and drove it home from the dyno. Car runs great on the street.
