eBay Challenge: Porsche vs. Corvette
Porsche vs. Corvette: It’s definitely a battle for the ages; a war that’s been going on for as long as the esteemed cars have been around.
Both Porsche and Corvette still do things in a rather old-fashioned way, and both have some of the richest motorsport heritages in the game. Honestly, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to the latest iterations of either of the two vehicles.
However, when it comes down to classic examples of the two cars being sold on eBay, which one do you pick?
Check out the two cars in question below: a 1990 Corvette ZR-1 and a 1994 Porsche 928 GTS. Both are sports cars, both have V8 engines that drive the rear wheels, and both are about as ’90s as you can get without listening to the Backstreet Boys and getting blonde highlights.
Straight from the dealer, the ’90 ZR-1 had a total of 375 horsepower to run to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, which is not just fast by 1990 standards, but even fast for today. While the Porsche almost had an equal amount of horsepower, 345, its 0-60 wasn’t as great with just under 5.0 seconds.
Personally, neither one of these are my favorite totally ’90s sports car, although if I had to pick, I’d probably go with the ZR-1. Sure, the interior is hilariously outdated, but there’s just something about a GM DOHC V8 that has me swooning. What do you think? In this case, do you choose Porsche or Corvette?
