Last Call! Bowling Green Plant Prepares to End Production for 2017 Model Year C7 Corvettes

The clock is ticking, with just a little over a month left, and counting. That’s how long you have to order that 2017 Corvette you’ve been holding out on ordering.

Perhaps you’ve just been waiting for the right time for the perfect deal. Well, that time is approaching.

In fact, the exact drop-dead date for ordering a 2017 model is April 13, regardless of whether you’re considering a standard C7, a Grand Sport, or a Z06. After that, you’ll be forced to pick from whatever is left at the dealership, as the Corvette plant goes through a temporary shutdown, which is expected to last for three to four months.

Right now, Corvette inventories are pretty high at dealerships, according to GM Authority. So, in a nutshell, your best time for a deal is probably right now. The official production for the 2017 model is slated to end June 2. And the plant will be back up and running sometime later to produce 2018 model year Corvettes, probably sometime in the fourth quarter.

Of course, we know there a few folks here intent on holding out for the 2018 model year. Especially given the fact that the new Corvette ZR1 will being going into production. After all, depending on who you ask, the ZR1 could very well be the hottest C7 variant to date.

In fact, many are predicting that the new 2018 ZR1 will be a collector’s edition. So, it might very well be worth the wait.
