Well, it's been a few months since I updated on the project. For the most part, we have been driving it when possible and working out the bugs as they pop up. Nothing too serious, just tuning etc.
The one thing we did get done recently was the exhaust system. New 2.5 duals and we used the Flowmaster 50's that were on the car. They are in excellent shape and sound good.
The pipe that was on the car when we purchased it was poorly done, and ran underneath the leaf spring so when you jacked the car up, the suspension hung on the exhaust. On top of that, the mufflers were visible below the bumper and also on the sides below the bottom edge of the quarter panel. It just looked tacky and was not thought out at all.
Now I don't have to look at that eyesore and it really sounds good.
Here is a before (the day we got the car) and after shot.
And one from the side... all tucked up nice and neat
We have also updated our color choice. Originally, we were planning on black with red interior (which I really do love), but we want something different. After looking back at all the cars and trucks I've had over the years, I realized that I've never had a blue car.
That led us to start looking at various blues, and we have decided on '73 Dark Blue Metallic. This was a one-year only color which really changes from shade to direct sunlight. Beautiful color in my opinion.
that is a great looking blue. Still trying to decide on the color for mine but am leaning towards a red, not sure what shade - so many shades to chose from!

I think it looks great! What color interior then? Me thinks you'd have to either go with black or buckskin.
The car currently has black interior, so we would keep that, but possibly add in very subtle touches of a second color. I agree with you, the buckskin would also be a good choice - would look classy with that blue.

Hard to go wrong with Red! You're right - picking a color is really hard to do. Huge variety of choices, and it's an important decision, because you don't want to spray the thing and then decide you don't like it.

True dat! I would like to paint it blue (had a 2011 Ram that was a great blue), but the wifey poo pooed the idea even though it's my car I still have to live with her
My wife put on some dark blue finger nail polish for the 4th - and her first comment was - that's the color we want to paint the Corvette! Funny thing was, it's almost an exact match.
So what you're saying is I should buy the wife some blue nail polish I do have the Buckskin interior so I personally think it would look good but then there's the wifey
I have also though of taking my maroon beret to a paint shop and have it matched to honor 82nd service but a buddy of mine's wife poo pooed that idea, damn women, can't please em

Thanks qwank! All of these things add up to a car that is closer to one that we're happy with.
