Thanks for the prayers Kubs( and this is coming from someone who at one time despised God).
I will more than likely come out of this in a week or months.....my father-in-law's case is terminal unless God intervenes.
God works in mysterious ways. I feel sometimes these situations are meant to test our faith, whether we are new to it or have followed God for a long time, or bring us closer to those that love us. Anything is possible for God but if your father in law remains terminal, know that he will no longer be suffering and you will be with him again someday!
I feel sometimes these situations are meant to test our faith, whether we are new to it or have followed God for a long time, or bring us closer to those that love us. I see it slightly differently...God allows us to go through things to strengthen our faith (If He "tested our faith"......no one except Jesus would pass the test)
Anything is possible for God but if your father in law remains terminal, know that he will no longer be suffering and you will be with him again someday! This is true.....even when my 20 year old son was killed by a violent Illegal Alien who was allowed to flee back to Mexico, as a combat veteran I "could have taken care of that situation myself"....but I accepted the fact that God is taking care of my son, and one way or the other He will take care of my father-in-law also
Thanks for the encouragement....I need all I can get.

Keep your faith close, Tony. When feeling down, stop watching that damn TV unless it's something funny (no news programs). Go out to the garage, play your favorite tunes, and just sit there and marvel at all your hard work (on the Vette) that is paying off. You have accomplished much from what I have seen in here, most of which mere-mortals would never attempt.
Think about all the good things that have happened to you ..and hug your wife for no apparent reason.
Mr. 3000??? Ohhhhhhh,,,,NOW I get it ......yes, I am slow!

Thanks MSGT,,,,,,,good advice about avoiding News Programs/Stupidity at it's finest hour! Actually, I cannot leave the interior of the house when things get rough psychologically/total quietness including ear plugs helps more than music....focusing myself to take a pic for member Priya or others is "pushing the limit" on what I can do in the garage (mind games at their finest).
I haven't been able to relate to good things since returning from Viet Nam......they always seem just out of reach........BUT I will try to hug my wife more!
This is usually the point where the Docs increase my meds by 50% until the situation begins to lessen. Maybe it/the roughest part of the PTSD won't last as long this time.
Well......enough of the .....just have good thoughts for the thousands of other veterans who can't speak up

Tony -
I read about a veteran with a PTSD service dog the other day and thought about you.
I don't know if there is anything to this or not, but here's a link to a website that discusses them.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......the above photo has me narrowing down my choice in the Presidential Race!
No work was done on the car today (AGAIN)......
BUT............We spent the day with my great father-in-law and mother-in-law while Hospice personnel spent a couple hours with the entire family explaining how the process works.
The good news is they/Hospice maintained a positive attitude the entire time.

Hey Tony I understand where you are. I spent the day in the day in the hospital with one of the members of the church I pastor. She has pneumonia and congestive heart failure. Doctors are thinking hours rather than days, and she was moved to a hospice room. I have worked with hospice including when my Mom and later my father-in-law died. They have always been top-notch people and very caring and comforting, very positive. Most like the Lord ahs allowed you Dad to be placed into the hands of some wonderful people that know how to deal with the challenges and range of emotions you and your family will be facing in the days ahead. Blessings on you, and will continue to hold you up in prayer.
seems with this bout of PTSD you are staying in contact with us better. last time you disappeared for a while. even if this contact doesn't help you, which it probably does, WE worry less...
Apparently it was meant for both of us....I can't take credit for it

I hope I learned from previous bouts that even if I do very little to the car until I feel better, it helps me psychologically to keep up with Forum Members.
There are many of us checking on you every day that only chime in occasionally. My prayers go out to all of you guys that are suffering.
I believe that Elijah was suffering from a case of PTSD while he was hiding in a cave. The voice of God said "what doest though here Elijah". Proof that God had not forgotten him. Keep going our prayers together are greater tha any problem.

Thanks 7t9.....I completely identify with the reference to the cave.
It would be great if every veteran going through a rough time could receive the same good thoughts and the good prayers that Forum Members have posted!

I put twenty years in the Army and can somewhat relate what you are going through. I don't have ptsd but know many who do. I appreciate the fact that you honorably served our country in time of need. You are not alone.

And the comfort of knowing you`re not alone...some of us know EXACTLY how you feel! THIS club is never excited to gain new members, but ONLY a "club member" can understand. Prayers are with you, and my PM box has plenty of room if you need it!

Thanks U.S. ......I was raised "Old School"--"Real Men" never talked about problems dealing with combat. It finally reached the point that I lost my job from not being able to concentrate---I simply walked away. Thanks for watching out for those who have PTSD.

I understand exactly what you meant by that statement....thanks for the support. WE will go see my very-sick father-in-law tomorrow/he has been a 2nd dad to me since my father died.
As for the car/project.......today does not feel like a good day to work on it...I definitely would do more harm than good to the repairs I plan to do........(I learned the hard way about THAT )
