Thanks U.S. ......I was raised "Old School"--"Real Men" never talked about problems dealing with combat. It finally reached the point that I lost my job from not being able to concentrate---I simply walked away. Thanks for watching out for those who have PTSD.
I walked away from a job or two myself.
Years spent in the military has changed me. It took and it still takes time for me to readjust to civilian life. Its been 11 years since I left the military and in a sense I will never readjust.
Civilians can encourage you but its impossible to understand unless you are a veteran.
There are reasons why we are a grateful nation. Thank you Doorgunner for your service, thank you for allowing the govt to put your ***** into a vice, your fear. You went through a hell of a lot of emotions while in the military and out of the military. The govt made you expendable and turned you into a number and treated us like cattle. It has little choice.
Speaking for myself I do not want special treatment from anyone. I know what you are going through. PM me if you would like.
Apparently it was meant for both of us....I can't take credit for it
I hope I learned from previous bouts that even if I do very little to the car until I feel better, it helps me psychologically to keep up with Forum Members.
Well it is certainly a help to me (and I am sure others) on here mentoring and guiding and keeping us straight, going the right way, even if you aren't getting things done on your car, you are getting things done on mine! You will be back at it soon!

Here's a big Thanks to you guys and to Priya. Today was a b-a-a-a-a-d day/eyes closed 3/4 of the day just trying to stay calm....the situation is about .005" better now.
Time to check in.......................10 days.............RATS!
I didn't realize that many days have gone by since I worked on the car. On the other hand, catching up on other member's threads has made the "down-time" easier, though.
I still think about 20 hours of work would have the car drivable....and the rear half of the convertible from the lock pillar rearward ready for paint.
(YES.....I am known for doing things completely BACKWARDS).
Right now I'm just trying to get the car on the road again/make sure the powertrain hasn't developed any problems/make sure when it is time for paint, the painter will be able to move the car under it's own power......(no supervisor wants to interrupt three of his employees just to push a car from one area to another).
I'm hoping that forum member Priya can get ahead of me on the fiberglass rear chrome bumper conversion of her car.....then I can pick up some good tips from her about problems that she worked through!
I have to say Priya has to be at the top of my list of members I would like to meet. She isn't afraid to tackle anything. That's not to say there aren't many others but She has her act together.

Besides....the only pics I can take is of the stack of wrenches/sanders/grinders I left laying under the car two weeks ago!
I went to the garage....saw THAT gnarled pile of electric cords.....and went back into the house........
Gunner i know i asked for pics, but laundry pictures?
Got any pictures of paint drying or grass growing?
Please get in the garage.
Good luck
I KNEW the above "pic-reply" was in the works......it's the best I could do considering!
(Thanks.....I need the chuckles)
As for the paint drying.....I have to "shovel" the floor of the garage clean again before any more fiberglassing/touch-up painting is done.
AS for the grass growing......half of my front lawn is dead.....the Scott's Southern Lawn Fertilizer has a defect and KILLS THE GRASS INSTEAD OF THE WEEDS.....................
Enough whining.....(I think I wore out the smilie that plays the violin)

Haha you had to shovel the garage floor to get to the car. I had to wait for the snow to melt to get my car out of the mobile garage to work in the driveway. I didnt want to shovel that!!!! I spilt gas and radiator fluid all over the inside of the mobile garage and it currently stinks in there, long story. Anywho, the great outdoor garage was beckoning me now that its 50 and less cloudy.
DG I'm glad your humor is intact and you're making your way to the garage. It sounds as though this may be a short rough patch for you. Im praying it is so you can get back to your family and inlawsI'm praying for your father in law too.

Thanks R.R. I'm trying to keep the humor going but it's "on Empty". We are going to my father-in-law's home in the next town across the Mississippi River every other day now--the garage cleanup will have to wait until he has a few "good days in a row".

Any old Italian gardener will tell you to mix the fertilizer with the soil, not on the plants they will burn. Always felt it made sense for grass also.
