When I lived in Utah I would leave shot brass and shotgun shells in my cars to give them the idea to make a better choice.....
Ahhhh your sign brings back some Memories...…
the old saying-"Staring DOWN a barrel..." is not quite accurate at times.
In combat, staring DOWN a barrel means YOU are pointing the barrel of the firearm at someone ELSE.
Compare to the saying "Staring INTO a barrel"....which is something I remember having to do a few times (talk about a sinking-feeling).
It means You are looking into the barrel of your enemy's firearm.
But, I digress
I just checked out the rear wiring harness/had to cut the harness off about a foot from the body grommet. It seems someone used home extension cord wiring to replace part of the damaged tail light harness

But the Orange cord would look so great with the Black Paint.......................
The Car is coming out Beautiful, a Toast to D/G.........
I think your polishing job on the bumpers look great. I'd run them for sure. Hard to beat chrome bumpers on a shiny black Corvette. Hat's off to you bud. Look good !

Ain't it the truth....but the bumpers are 6 footers/any closer and you can see 50 years of wear and dings. Like the other members said ....... rechrome then during the winter

Tony there was a set like your rear bumpers in the for parts for sale for like $75. Maybe buy them, get them rechromed while you cruise and come up to Iowa over the summer and then switch them out and sell the ones on there now! Or when you come here I will give you mine to rechrome and then you can give yours!

A.T. Thanks for the offer. Problem is...I cut the brackets off my bumpers and shortened the brackets 1/2" so there would be a small gap between the tail light fiberglass panel and the edge of the bumper(s). It will be O.K. I will line up a chrome plater company this winter that can give me a definite turn-around time.
I started rewiring the rear harness from the body grommet to the rear lights....didn't get very far/"Precious" needed me to bring her shopping...…
I ?think? that's everything I will need to lengthen all the wires...……
The original wrap was cracked and peeling/I removed it and re-taped the wiring....
This is as far as I got today...I splice six 6 pieces of color-correct automotive wires to the wiring that exits the storage compartment…(see pic above)……….

back end is looking good. next... https://www.corvette-restoration.com...lation-part-1/ i am sure you found this, but just in case. rad support and inner fenders stay attached to the nose when reinstalling orig nose. but you knew that too... most of that thread is setting up a new nose, but the alignment methods and measurements still work

But I didn't! So thanks for sticking that tidbit in!
price we pay for having a woman. every penny and every minute we don't spend on the vette and the misc toys for the rest of our lives...if we are lucky!!
i would have thought you would have had reverse light mount done before paint. a cheater method is LED lights mounted on license plate frame for reverse. this looks like a bunch of doing to build on a painted valance. https://www.ebay.com/p/655151652 but if you are gonna... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-location.html although some seem much closer inboard towards the bumper.

Tell me about it! I was dealing with PTSD and completely forgot about the reverse light openings...
I'll check the link you posted...
