Gunner will the alarm activate if someone cut the soft top to get in?
Absolutely! The alarm has three extra independent wires for special sensors....I will use one of the wires for "electrical tape" similar to that around the edges of plate glass in office buildings....when a blade cuts the tape with the embedded wires the alarm is triggered....there will also be a tilt sensor..... a separate 12 volt battery in case someone snips the main leads under the car---it will trigger the alarm if the main battery lead(s) are cut....along with the usual sensors that are standard with most alarms. The remote start has the usual automatic theft-engine-kill sensor.....along with a manual hidden switch that grounds the distributor electronics in case the remote engine-kill is bypassed by a thief...
plus anything else you guys can suggest........WHEW!

Sounds good, figured you'd cover all the bases. Any booby traps set up? I know your capable.
Cmon Gunner, I'm too lazy too work on my own car now so I have been vicariously working through yours. I'm behind schedule so you need to get back to work.

I made it home from the V.A. around 3pm......then made a trip into the attic to re-enforce the new hoist I installed to lift the hardtop....the pulley bracket in the ceiling was flexing a little-too-much for my liking.
Maybe I'll be able to finish the dash/alarm install toda.....errrrr....tonight/6pm already!

Your lucky you made it home from the V.A. alone.! You really like to gamble. LOL Just joking.

You just don't know the whole story....the V.A. doesn't have a very good track record/I think it has more to do with the Suits in the front office though, because all my doctors are great people....My wife traveled with me so I wouldn't end up locked (by accident) in a storage room for 8 or 9 months....LOL!
I did manage to install the red bulbs in the tach gauge/the pic is not clear but the aviation look is there! It looks like there is a poor ground on the 0 to 1000 rpm bulb........
The speedometer gauge seems to have a poor main ground because all the bulbs are dim.......

I hate painting, and electrical work! I found a nice candidate for my daughters truck yesterday. We went to John Staluppi "Cars Of Dreams" collection. Outside in the car show was a nice 55 chevy, that my daughter fell in love with. She specifically wants the BIG steering wheel, and to keep the "V" dash instrument cluster. She also wants the bed with wood floor boards and a wood side fence for the back bed.
I understand. I have two daughters......and my son is in in Heaven.
Enjoy every day with your kids/even when they get on your nerves!
So sorry to hear.., That is upsetting. I try to do exactly what you said. My Dad tells me this every day. He also say's "Money aint worth a ****, if you ain't got your health" It can't buy you longevity. And I see this in him. He and I lost my mom back in November. He has all the $$ in the world he needs, but couldn't help her. Best doctors, nurses aids, everything. Now he's alone after 50 + years, and is depressed. Me and the family do the best we can, but what can you do? When half of you isn't there anymore, its just a hole. SO yes to what you said, ENJOY LIFE NOW FOR WHAT IT IS, NOT WHAT IT COULD BE.
lost my Dad 3 years ago at 89, and it was still way too soon. Mom is now 90 and Misses him a bunch they were together 64 years. She is with Me so She has Family close. It will never be the same.
