Both the same. No signs of any cracking so I'm mystified ?
Too bad they did that crap to a pair of 71-72 ONLY covers.
I think they may have had a crank case pressurization problem... and they vented the covers like an older set which has the open breather on the cover.

Micha my trans stamp has a H after the P1E25A - ALSO my trans has never been rebuilt and still has the factory WT ink mark on the other side...
Good ! I'm happy to see I'm not the only one in the LT-1's world, to have that. I've red that it happens, with no other comments. It might be some shifts. I've sent an email to the NCRS (mine has been top flight awarded in 2014), but they did not answered yet.
Anyhow I know I'm not worried about that, the way it has been stamped shows it's been done with the very same hand and letters, it's all done the same way and my M20 hasn't been rebuilt neither.
It's just that I was looking for an historic or logic explanation.
Thank you for your contribution @Firstgenaddict !
We might find some other LT-1 owners with the same additionnal letter and this might be the exclusive sign of M20 only made and tuned up for LT-1's or 1971 LT-1's ! Why not !?
Drove a half tank of fuel out of her this past weekend... CARS AND COFFEE IS TOMORROW!
A few new photos... taken last weekend, the original paint is really looking nice now... I've got most of the details worked out as well... everything works, clock, CEC, all lights etc..
LAST one in front of the new shop I just built...

Put red lines on and I think with the PO2's look great. Photo by Yvonne at a Corvettes & Breakfast meet last weekend
Spent a lot (too much really) of time getting the yellow one sorted. For 18 years in a barn it's come up really nice. Had all the chrome redone, pulled the interior, cleaned and painted some items. Media blasted the rims and had the cast off Eagle GT2 from the red one mounted for now. Refurbished the console plate, refurbished the storage box lids & frame, shampooed the carpet and fitted new front grilles. It runs but it's rough so mechanicals next.
Brit your first picture is Art ! Great colors and contrasts.
Thanks Micha.
We meet once a month for a short cruse and breakfast at the American Diner in North Wales and this last one this young lady asked if she could come along and take some photo's. Turns out she's a proper petrol head and has 4 Corvettes. I'm sure she won't mind me posting another next to my mates '72 SCG Coupe

And here I thought you to be a man of multi talents! The photo with the two is quite lovely and the setting is pure art.
Not another LT1 for me... but a little brother... 35k mile Original paint - SPECIAL ORDER BLACK - 1973 L82 4 speed A/C PS PB PW deluxe leather.
Check it out... the original swaged exhaust pipes, along with the original mid pipes and exhaust tips! Mufflers dated 1987. Car has been driven 2000 miles since 1990.

These are really great shoot angles. Great photograph.
Here are 2 pictures I have shot this afternoon. Unfortunately, we had a rain episode while I washed it one hour before ! This is Paris !
Ya know, with a little bit of coordination, a bit early for some, and perhaps a bit late in the day for others, we could all go on a 'group' drive separately...
As an aside, the L82 much like the 72 LT1 AIR cars uses a lower RPM redline. With AC it runs the same TACH as the 72 LT1 AIR or 72- 73 BB cars 5600 REDLINE... the NON AIR CARS use a 6000 REDLINE.
Right, mine is a 1971, but as you can see on my the engine pictures, the A/C has beed installed (after 2014 Top flight award). I'm quite sure I'll never push it till a 6500rpm. Reaching 4-5000 rpm is already very impressive. Eventhough, if I were to, no doubt the new AC compressor will be strong enough to turn 6500 for a couple of sec. I believe it's more a precaution from the engeneers. Iv'e never heard about a burned AC compressor because of RPM overload.
With an alu radiator - 2fans and a "become necessary" powerful alternator update it's almost the only modernity it has received since judged. Fortunately, I've the fan shroud, rad, fan, alt... and all the original pieces in my garage to make back to the past.
As I was yesteday having a balade with my wife It was sunny and I was more than happy to be able to cool down the inside temp. These improvements are not useless...
