Corvette V12?

Finally after finishing up all my family and Christmas stuff- was able to spend some time in the garage...
I sent the ECU off to the manufacture and it did have a bad output transistor- They turned it around in a day- but it's just been sitting on the bench since.
Went over the plugs/coils/wires and made sure everything checked out. Redid a couple connectors and decided to separate all 12 coils by putting six on each side- just a little more rewiring.
Hit the ignition and then the starter - she fired up!!!
Running MUCH smoother- I let it idle for a few and took my IR temp gun - checked the temp at each exhaust . They were all with in 20 or so degrees. Oil pressure was fine.
Warmed up- revved on it - the radiator cap was loose- so antifreeze sprayed on the coils from the overflow tank hose- the engine died. Saw the fuse for the ignition coils was lit up- I'm running the fuses that when they blow- the LED lights up! Super cool to figure out a problem in seconds.
So I dried up the coils- replace the fuse- tightened the cap and she fired right up. Nice and smooth!!!
So after the temp gets up to about 160ş I decide to rap on the throttle- instant response - time for a video!!!
Did a little short video and was watching for any leaks and logging some data - then BOOM- -Lower radiator hose blew off -spraying all over!!!
So just finished cleaning up- I think I'll see if my buddy can roll bead the end of the pipe... Tomorrow is another day!!!

Yep- pretty motivating...
I fixed the SS pipe thay puked all my antifreeze-
I had used a 1 3/4" SS exhaust pipe pre-bent- as the BMW waterpump has a 90ş bend and couldn't find any hoses that were close- thought it wouldn't come loose...but I was wrong!!!
Saw some neat tools on Youtube on how to make a flange ....but I don't have a bead roller- plus stainless is a little tough to just bend!!!
Laying around- I had a piece of 2" SS pipe- so I cut about a 3/8" piece off with my trusty angle grinder. Then fitted it just like a piston ring around it - had it a little more than 1/8" proud of the smaller pipe.
I welded a bead around the inside and then hit it with a grinder- followed it up with some 120 paper - worked great!!!
Tonight - I pulled the plugs and looking them over- 3 for some reason have too much carbon on them...
So I'm going to investigate that- then brakes- and then a victory lap around the block!!!

I cleaned the plugs with my ultrasonic cleaner- in the past have been using plastic zip lock bags to put the cleaner & part(s) in and filling the rest with water
For the plugs I had really good success with using a plastic container- cut the edges toi fit- filled it with the cleaner and rest with water. Uses a lot less cleaner and easy clean up.
I also bought a synchrometer- worked great- had to cut up the rubber a bit so it would fit tight with the screens in the way. All the cylinders were close to each other- plus the velocity stacks are not gasketed to the throttle bodies - so could get a little leak there- bottom line no major vacuum leaks!!!
Ran it today- lite right up- and got a little bit of logging in- but pulled the plugs and they have carbon on them....Crap....
So spent most of the evening reading over my tune - how to tune - youtube on how to tune...the owners manual...
Anyway- I had the O2 sensor not doing any correction-which it's supposedly just used to get the engine started-then turn it on...so I changed that and will try the auto-tune feature tomorrow.
I am also concerned that maybe the plugs are not getting a good spark- I've got an extra set of LS coil wires and will try bypassing the longer set I made up- and see if that helps...
Stay tuned- pun intended!!!
ultrasonic cleaner trick-
New synchrometer
The start-up log...not bad...as far as I can see or understand...

Carl-
Yes- I am. The ECU will handle 12 injectors but only 10 outputs for ignition.
Firing order 1-7-5-11-3-9-6-12-2-8-4-10
So I am pairing 1-6, 7-12, 5-2, 11-8, 3-4, 9-10
Which makes the wiring pretty straightforward- 3 outputs to each side.
Any thoughts?

Yes- you are correct it is high...the mixture is supposed to be a little rich till coolant temp (CLT) reaches 160ş- it wasn't there yet-
As I (and I'm sure you have too!!!) find it's usually more than one thing messed up when it looks like an easy fix!!!
BUT a few of the plugs were not carbon covered...so that's why I was checking the spark - vacuum leak and my tune set up.
When I did rev on it -it went lean- so I have some work to do...but I have it running - supposedly the rest is easier...I hope!!!
Is your son driving your old vette???
Richard
I assume you checked your 12 injectors for balance. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much at idle or when the engine is not up to temp as long as it's running well. At Idle it could be the injectors are not even or the throttle opening not being exactly the same for each cyl. Nothing to sweat about IMHO. Get it on the road, up to temperature and some load, do some logs and then check the plugs after.
I forgot if you had a log manifold or separate exhaust manifolds. If separate, then shoot a temperature on them to see how close they are. Back in the day, I used to log an EGT for each cyl, but I only had 4.
You're well on your way IMHO..

Take a well deserved victory lap!
