Corvette V12?

It's this sort of out of the box thinking and innovation that this country was built on. Your patience and perseverance are amazing, most of us would have abandoned this project when we first pulled the BMW engine and had it swinging on an engine hoist..."Fxxx that, I'll find a big block". You seem to be the kind of guy that thrives on challenge. It's easy to see why...you really are a process oriented sort of fella. Too bad that when you reach your goal, it'll be time to start a new one.

Next time how about a turbocharged LS stroker in one of those donor beamers...
My hat is off to you. Please carry on, I'm anxious to see this beast on the road.
If you could PM your Paypal account info...and I might want to talk about writing my Biography...or maybe beefing up my resume...
Not a bunch to show- was worked on making a really neat vacuum dist block ( rather tube) w/ aluminum tubing...but it just won't fit..so back to the drawing board...

Carbon fiber wrapped valve covers were a thought- but like the Chevy orange ones better...The vacuum tube is just in the way of the throttle linkage

The fuel rails are an issue- modded the stock ones- made brackets BUT its not going to work- the inlet and the outlets are just in the wrong place-the regulator is too close to the firewall... swapping sides and/or front to back - just won't work. I'm looking at Ross Machine on eBay for some -6 Fuel Rail extrusion- drill bit- regulator mount and just make my own....
Trying to finish fabbing up the LS coil mounts....have some ideas...but none seem to really work how I want it to...
The wiring harness is all finished - have the O2 sensor and it's controller all soldered up- have the wires neatly running behind the engine through the fire wall. Also going to run the factory harness inside the car and hide it as well.
But- I am getting a lot closer to starting it up!!!

I was just not happy w/ the vacuum line set up...
So here's what I did.
I needed to make some new -custom - fuel rails to fit under the hood better- and the placement of the stock lines were in the way of the throttle bodies...and had some extra fuel rail material...
I worked out a neat way- that shouldn't leak and looks pretty cool....
After making the threaded rod hollow- I needed a way to connect all 12 throttle bodies- realizing there was a lot of stuff in the way to work around and don't want it coming loose...
Here's what I did-
Took some old injectors- tapped them to fit the threaded rod I had made to vacuum 'port' the throttle bodies- cut off the ends- then drilled some of the extra fuel line rail I had left over for a 'modified' injector. I'm going to use brake line to connect the fuel rails-AKA Vacuum rails together.

On a side note- Ross Machine Racing -found these guys on eBay- bought the fuel rail- regulator housing and 14mm drill bit for the injectors. The regulator housing was damaged in shipping... I contacted them- and they shipped another one out THAT day-told me to just throw away the damaged one...no hassle...So if you need to make some fuel rails up-or a custom intake- these are the guys!!!
I'm working on mounting the fuel rails this evening-didn't like the L bracket idea that most use- so I took some large washer I had sitting around and made them look a little more hidden-
This is my mock up piece-

I had a chunk of aluminum laying around- though it might look good hiding the wires... I'm thinking that I'll mill some fins in it...add the flags and make it look reminiscent of the old C2 fuel injections set-ups...

Carbon looks the best when it is painted if you ask me.
I am a member in a couple of Porsche clubs as well and let me tell you that there is a lot of carbon parts there.
Not so many that agree with me when i say that carbon mirrors on a 911 is better looking if painted the same color as the car in those clubs

And I want to see it DONE as well!!!...
THANKS GUYS!!!!
Getting close to starting this thing up...
I have all the lines ran-bolted -up for the Dry sump pump. Tight- but
everything clears.

Here's the vacuum and fuel rails finished- I used brake line fittings to connect the vacuum rails then a T to connect to the MAP sensor-

I love this thread. Corvettes are an American icon and for some they are best left the way GM built them. For me they are the foundation for a unique and personal vehicle, modified whatever way you like. When I saw the V12 thread title my first thought involved a BMW (Isetta with a V12 - Allison). Yours is way cooler (especially with big rig electric A/C).
My hat is off to you!
You will have a many smile per gallon when your done. And for those that talk about the lack of power, sometimes it's about the build and sound of the project.
I have a Honda CBX 6 cylinder bike that I built, it's not the fastest bike but it looks cool and sounds like nothing else on the road.
Looking forward to hearing yours!

I have one of those too:

Nothing sounds like a multi-cylinder engine at high revs.

"Nothing sounds like a multi-cylinder engine at high revs."
Couldn't have said it better myself...and even at idle the V12 will sound like it's turning 50% faster then a V8.
Few updates- been super busy w/ work...
Was wanting to make use of the L88 cowl induction-since getting "clean" air from the front of the car would really require moving/replacing the radiator-
So-I found some velocity stacks- and some extruded aluminum tubing w/ a 55° angle and all I have to do is make an airbox on the hood w/ 12 holes! I'm looking for some round rubber gaskets to go between the top of the stacks and the hood. Then figure a filter or two to actually mount to the hood.
Also going to relocate the LS coils on the firewall- I really like the Chevy orange valve covers....
Made some fiberglass pieces- painted them black- to cover where the distributors use to be.
I also figured out what to do about the fuel system and tank. Bought a Aeromotive Phantom system- just cut a 3" hole in the tank- no welding required.
Here's the stacks set up- not welded yet-

engine is out- finished all the mocking up and in the process of detailing the engine compartment-
frame- cleaned and primed

Painted the fenderwell w/ charcoal metallic - plain ole black just didn't cut it...

I just never liked the factory dustshields- they sorta looked like an afterthought-
so I mocked up this- made a pair out of fiberglass- and will use brushes to 'seal' the arms in the slots.

My guest bedroom...hopefully will get all this stuff on my car this weekend...

The rears are done-

Have my exterior lighting figured out- going w/ LEDs and a turn sequential flasher from Speedway motors...
I know- I know- I had to switch a couple wires now it flashes from inside to out-
Richard

BMW = Bosch....Jaguar= Lucas
Not to mention Mclaren chose to use a BMW V12 too... just sayin...
Richard

THANKS- hey did you go w/ the Wilwood big brakes? I'm trying to figure out the best way to plumb them. Is your LS running yet?
Got my brakes all dialed in- runout less than .004
My dust shield turned out OK...a little more tweeking and I think it's going to work...
Now getting the transmission set up w/ a hyd throwout-I know- those were the only bolts I had laying around... bolt it up to the engine and drop it back in!!!
