Corvette V12?
However- the BMW V12 I'm gonna run with weighs in about 500lbs- fully dressed - A little more than a LS1.
As far as power goes- About 300HP in stock form. I've pulled all the accessories (A/C & P/S) and setting it up w/ a dry sump-a little clean up and I really will only see about 350HP. So- really close to what my original LS-5 made back in the day.
Hauq- Manual transmission is not a problem- The BMW 850's came w/ a 6 speed-and they are not too tough to find.

Yep- I responded to his post here on the Corvette Forum-
I actually looked at that engine too-
Not that many made and didn't like the cylinder deactivation-under like 3K RPM it runs on 12 cylinders then it shuts off the valves on one side to a 6 cylinder.
I'm guessing it can be bypassed like the LS engines with Active Fuel Management.
Oh- from what I read they are notorious for out of round cylinder walls and oil fouling.
Plus converting to a manual will be a lot of work - as it never came with a manual transmission.
The only thing I wish I had done - was pull the body off frame- it would have really sped up the build. But I've owned the car for getting close to 40 years - no rust Georgia car - so I didn't feel the need.
thanks for looking!!!
Ummm- so hows your "stock" non-complex build coming along!!!

Drove my car all the way to the top of my driveway!!!!
Notes to self-
1) bolt down the seat!!!
2) fix bolt on sidepipe- nyloc?
3) work on clutch linkage- engages to soon
4) adjust latch on drivers door
So tomorrow - I hope to be driving around the neighborhood!!!
I'm really happy with the electric power steering- shifter is right where it feels good. It's finally coming together.
Still have a drip of oil on the back of the pan- changing the breather system to the catch can solved filling it up after a couple of revs. The oil filter canister's new AN to NPT fitting solved the leak there.
I have already ordered another oil pan gasket ( only $15) just in case.
Proof- it drove up the driveway!!!
AlsoPics of just some of my progress since last post-
AN fittings on oil canister- also redid the hoses so they can flex more when the engine is running-
New upgraded - custom built alternator- twin rectifiers- Internal and external fan cooled!!!
Yep- a really tight fit!!!!
Valve covers- cleaned them up- and had them powdercoated-
Basically finished up all the wiring- neatened it up the best I could.

I milled it down a bit!!! It's good for 155A full tilt- and about 80A at idle.
Originally I had a GEO Storm w/ AC alt there that was only good for about 90A.
HA- I'm going dumpster diving - when all the restaurants and retail stores get rid of the "covid" shields- I'll be good to go!!!

Spent Saturday at the Classic Glass Corvette Club Corvette show at Day’s Chevrolet, we took both of our 74’s. Enjoyed seeing several CorvetteForum friends.

here's what i have been up to-
the cooling system-
had a leak behind the waterpump ( used air to check for leaks)- it was a npt fitting that i had blocked off- impossible to get at...so started taking of the front oil pump drive - serp drive and then decided to go to harbor freight and get some sacrificial tools. I grinded a couple sockets and hex key up and was able to get to it.
Leak stopped...however found my bran new radiator cap on my expansion tank was leaking- a spray bottle with soapy water found it.
Got a really nice piece off ebay for under $20-
i got an an fitting welded to the new radiator-
and while i was at it- i redid the angle of the tensioner on the serp drive- got a new pulley (smaller) and made a new bracket out of aluminum-
ready to go back together-
the exhaust is pretty much figured out-
here's the removable piece- so i can take the muffler apart-
uses factor frame mount-
all put together- o2 sensor bung in
now to finish up the brakes-
got a eastwood double flare tool-
and after doing some research - found out that i needed a 7/8" bore versus the 1" bore already bolted on- haven't put fluid in it yet.

Sound just like a Pagani
