Is the switch repairable or do you just replace the whole control head?

I don't think it's a TH-350, there is no modulator on the back of it.

FATCAT, a picture of the oil pan would probably be more helpful

Sorry having trouble posting pix with my phone. It is definitely the same pan as #6 in the pic 75 posted. Now it also has electrical connections and has 16 bolts on the pan.

I'll have to differ to smarter people than me on this one, it's probably a 700R4 but don't take my word on that.

if it is a 700, from what I've heard, the earlier years of that trans. are more prone to issues than the later years, again, don't listen to me about that.

I believe they are more expensive to have rebuilt too.

Cool! My buddy who gave it to me bought it from a guy a couple years ago to go in a 87 Camaro. He said was a fresh rebuild when he bought it and I know he never put it on his car. I just am not sure with electronics if it will work on my car or not?

I'm fairly sure you would need a different crossmember to install it, and a shorter drive shaft. don't know about the electronics though.

I'm pretty sure I saw one on Ecklers web site, but I think it depends on if your's is bolted in or welded in, I know on my '81 it's bolted in but I think some years were welded.

Is it just called a crossmember or is there another name for it I would search for? Hahaha I feel so dumb sometimes asking questions like this.

as you've been told---- the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask---- that said, I just looked and I can't find it. I could have been mistaken on where I saw it, I've been on tons of websites lately trying to find reasonable sources for parts for my car.

I'll keep my eyes open, but I'm sure someone will come along who has done the swap and knows a source.

Yeah, I am reading some stuff. Something called a " bowtie" sounds like the possible answer.

BTO, Bowtie Overdrives makes a crossmember for the swap. I'm not sure you need a different one for the th700r4.

Looks like an early 700R4 but we need a pic of the other side where there should be a 4 prong plug.

oooo a late model 700r4. You'll need your speedo gear from your old transmission (the plug on the tailshaft).

it'll bolt in place, and your cross member is removable - they are not removeable in the manual transmission cars.

notice something - the hole in the front (side) is for the dipstick

The hole in the back - is for that cable I told you to NEVER forget to install, and the one which, if you incorrectly hook it up to your carb, will burn the transmission up in as little as 20 miles.
