Going back together should make a lot of progress next week.
Attached is picture of chromemoly strut rods compared to vbp.
The vbp rod end has 9000 lb pull strength the chromemoly has 26400 lb pull strength.

Now that Tom of Tom’s differentials has passed, hopefully more people will continue to supply these parts for C3’s. We’ve run the Tom’s 12 bolt stuff with the 1480 u-joints for almost 20 years in our NHRA stocker. It’s got hundreds of mid-low 1.30 60’ passes on it

Impressive time and air. Jo Watt is still selling parts so there should not be any immediate concerns.

David, the build is looking fantastic! Jealous that you are now ahead of me. I ran out of time in the spring but should resume soon. Keep up the good work!

Cap made to replace u-bolts for standard stub axle.
Threads are 3/8 -24 in cap.
Cast cap next to new one for comparison.

Test fit cap in comparison to u-bolts for clearance at maximum angle for standard inner axle.
Last little adjustment cap will perform same as u-bolts.

In an ironic twist I found that the latest part also fits a strange 9 inch pinion yoke (1350 u-joint).
And for anyone wondering about the value of turning the rotor locating surfaces mine run true within .001".
I am now working on special project for the big power guys. Attached is teaser picture.
